Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial hosts the site of the farm where the 16th president of the U.S. spent the majority of his youth.
I am on a solo road trip stopping at as many national parks as possible. This one has been on my radar for quite some time. Impressive visitor center, beautiful ground and a legacy that is treasured. I was disappointed to see all the visitors driving the property. You will not get the same experience if you drive. It is only half mile and if you drive you will not see the 12 stones trail.

We have been to Saint Meinrad Archabbey before when we spent a night and enjoyed the atmosphere of this place. This time we were in the area and decided to visit again. There is some construction going on but that does not stop one from going into the church and thanking the good Lord for all are blessings.

Every time I have been here the staff is also so friendly, always making the guests feel like family. The food is delicious especially the frozen hot chocolate. Can't go wrong with anything you get. Love this place.

We visited the Monkey Hollow Winery on a sunny September day. The grounds are beautiful and the wine tasting experience was a good one. We purchased three bottles for home and highly recommend a visit to those in the area.

It was a fun little stop if you're close by. I probably wouldn't drive an hour to get there. There is a nice selection of ornaments, but not as affordable as I would have liked/thought they would be, but if you're looking for something specific, they have it.
I wish they would have had a Santa Claus, IN one that wasn't just hand written on there. The post office is like 2 doors down if you want to send a post card from there to someone from Santa Claus, IN!

Visit Santa's Stables for a family friendly horseback riding experience, led by our trained guides! Also enjoy pony rides for the wee ones.
We were vacationing at Holiday World at the end of July and thought it would be a good idea to get some other events in....so we opted for the horse back riding. Our kids really enjoyed this and so did my wife. The handlers were outstanding with us.....

Spend some time in the Original Santa Claus Post Office and write your free letters to Santa. Don't forget to include your name and address... Santa and his Elves will write back in December!
This was a nice museum to learn about the town. As with most museums it was not something children would enjoy.

We just got back from doing this, and we loved it!! Take lots of pictures, turn off car lights and turn the radio on! Enjoy the ride! FYI, If you are in a hurry- flash your lights and go around the cars, do not ride so close to them ans disturb their experience. These lights are amazing! A lot of work goes into these lights and the music and the choreography of matching the lights with the music. We took lots of pictures and this just brings us more together! Check Groupon or living social for a discounted ticket. But surely enjoy the ride!!! And take your time!

This post office handles up to 50,000 pieces of mail per day during the Christmas season.
During one of several road trips with my grandson, I had to swing by the town of Santa Claus. It's a fun place for a pit stop to stretch your legs and do some light shopping at the local stores in the strip mall near the post office Bring your cards and letters, especially during the days leading up to Christmas to have the postmark that tells everyone you've seen Santa at his other hangout.
FYI, there is an amusement park nearby.
