Staff was super friendly, courteous & professional. Felt completely safe in their hands despite being scared outta my mind. The facility was comfortable & complete. Even offers campsites if u wanna make a weekend out of it.
I highly recommend getting the video, especially if it's your first jump. I've watched mine three times in the last two days, and still get goosebumps!

This business should be promoted more: for all those tourists along Route 1, this is a really good attraction: very well-maintained grounds, shady, nice staff, interesting approaches, some challenges. My two teenage sons and I had a great game. Other players were very nice. A memorable visit.

Hackmatack Playhouse

Reviewed By Matt R - Nottingham, New Hampshire, United States

We are frequent visitors here and thought it 'bout time' to let people know about this little gem.

Located in a rural country setting lies the Hackmatack Playhouse. You'll enjoy the quaint layout of the barn, concessions, and seating. We saw 'Once Upon a Mattress'.

You won't find air conditioning here, but are always offered a Hackmafan to cool down with. They have a very low carbon footprint here, so greenies will love it. We have yet to have an issue in the heat area.

Grab a snack at intermission, you'll love the entire experience.

Peace, Matt

Funky Bow Brewery & Beer Company

Reviewed By pdxballard - Boston, Massachusetts

Pizza and beer, what’s not to like? Funky Bow is in an off the beaten path location. You park below and walk up a hill to a large party. Outside are fire pits and portable toilets. Under the plastic covered qwanset type structure is the band, pizza and beer. As you enter you pay a cover charge and receive a paper wrist band. Our cover charge was $3 and beer tokens were $6 each or 5 for $25. Further inside are picnic tables and tall cocktail type tables. The beer taps are at the back on the left while the pizza line is on the right. The night we went it took 20 minutes to get our beer and the pizza was going to be 1.5 hour wait although about 1 hour later it was down to a 10 minute wait! Dogs roam freely creating disturbances and potentially urinating on women’s purses. The music is ok, there’s no lighting for the portable toilets so bring a flashlight or you phone. Fun experience, pizza was good, beer was great.

Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge

Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge was established to protect valuable salt marshes and estuaries for migratory birds. Visitors can enjoy wildlife viewing year-around on the refuge.

The Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge honors the work of a major American naturalist. Ms. Carson would no doubt be happy to see how this place was developed. Its located in a wooded setting. One follows a flat, well-marked path with lookouts along the way, where one can stop to take in beautiful views of the salt marshes, with different aspects of their ecology highlighted in a brochure that one can pick up at the visitors center. The atmosphere is such that one is inclined to proceed at a leisurely pace and just enjoy being in this beautiful place. The entire walk is one mile in length. Thank goodness for nature preserves like this one!

It's an every year must forn the two of us.

Never really crowdy. Quiet.

At low tide , the beach is quite wide. Good for long and peaceful walks.

Parking not always available. Either you get there early in the morning or else at around two in the afternoon ( people are leaving ). Sometimes you'll have to park near route1 which means a « long » walk to the beach when you have things to carry. But anyway,

It's a great place. Soft sand and beautiful ocean.

Don't miss it !

This is one of a very few remaining fields where Babe Ruth played ball. That history has kept the community supporters very much engaged in bringing a top quality team to play here and rebuilding this beautiful nostalgic facility after the previous one was destroyed by fire. It's truly one of my favorite ballparks even though it only seats about a thousand.
