Salisbury Winter Sports Association (SWSA) is best known for its annual Jumpfest ski jumping competitions, usually held the first weekend in February. These include the Eastern Nationals, target jumping under the lights, junior jumping, the Human Dogsled Race, ice carving, the Snow Ball, and others. Other events during the year include a skijumping camp for young people, ski/skate swap/shop (first Saturday each December), Brew-Ski, and other community events. Jumpfest is also the centerpiece of the Jumpfest Winter Festival, an area-wide celebration leading up to an including Jumpfest weekend.
In the remote northwest corner one would not expect to find a world class nordic ski jump facility but this little town thinks big! The annual SWSA (Salisbury Winter Sports Association) annual Jumpfest is a fabulous winter sporting event. It is supported throughout the year with other notable happenings, such as the October "Brew-ski" offering 35 different breweries tastings and chili cook off, at the base of the jumps. A beautiful setting and a terrific organization.

Beautiful racetrack in a gorgeous setting. Great racing at a well maintained facility. Fun camping as well. Walk the track after the racing is done. No hook ups for camping but bathroom and showers available. Walk through the pits and get up close to the cars and drivers. Been to sports car and antique car races here and enjoyed both. Well staffed.

While a smaller than usual State park, Rudd Pond is a lovely spot in upstate New York. A beautiful pond with a small sandy beach is fun in the summer. Most of the year, the park is a nice place for a picnic with many (somewhat deteriorating) picnic tables overlooking the pond. Stop here for a picnic or a quiet and peaceful moment communing with nature.

great family ride, especially for NYC recreational family bikes. The path is smooth, last stop on the Harlem Valley Metro North Train. About 45 or so to Millerton. Once there, there are 3 or 4 antique shops and two restaurants that are very good.

We were on the CT Wine Trail while we stayed at the Interlaken Inn and this one was relatively nearby. We found 2 particularly good wines for CT, one a blueberry mix which is delightful for a summer afternoon. It's located right down the road from Beckley Iron works so a must see if you're at the winery, especially on a Saturday when there's someone there to show you around. The farm has been in the Adam family since the late 1700s so it's a nice little step back into history.

Good local spot to taste and purchase locally distilled spirits like gin, vodka, and some young bourbons aged in a variety of barrels (scotch and assorted beers) imparting different flavors. Didn't stay for the tour, however, did appreciate the opportunity to taste several varieties before...MoreChristine, Thanks for your review! Glad you liked our Berkshire Bourbon. One correction, our bourbon is not blended with rye but rye is in the mash bill in the Berkshire bourbon. Hope to see you again soon!

Chamber music concert by the Amernet Strong Quartet - Peter and the Wolf, selection from Cypresses by Dvorak, and his Quintet for Double Bass and Strings -- what can I say! This summer music program has been going strong for 84 years so you know that they are doing something right! The seating is first-come, first served -- sit in padded 'church pew' type benches. The walls of the hall are real knotty pine and the warmth of the wood must make the acoustics perfect -- the sound was lush, exquisite, amazing.
Park on the lawn, short walk to the hall, air conditioned if needed. We went to a 5 pm "Russian" dinner at the Inn at Falls Village and then this 6:30 sunset concert.
If you are in the area during their season, do not miss the experience. musicmountain.org

We saw Nine Wives, Falsettos, and Spring Awakening…All were excellent productions…professional, quality performances and the plays themselves were great, not groundbreaking but still not the safe Neil Simon, yada yada…Nine Wives was hilarious, we took guests and we all laughed out loud several times…the performers are great…the director and manager of the company there has done a great job of providing interesting, quality, and fun theater...

Have been here numerous times to view many shows.
This is a small intimate venue with no outlandish lighting or high powered sound.
Just a very relaxing venue with basic but effective effects.
Venue brings in many big name acts that no longer play the larger concert venue but opt for a smaller up close and personal venue.Highly recommend that one should check out this hidden gem.Enjoy the Bistro before the show.
