I would recommend this tram ride to visitors of all ages. We had a delightful trip and enjoyed the maps on the observation deck that labeled the mountains we were able to see from every direction. The employees were super friendly and answered our questions about the tram itself.
Be sure to check out the gift shop, and take 51 cents for the "penny smasher"- the best souvenirs aren't always the most expensive!

We fell in love with Salida and this park offered the perfect way to enjoy a closer look at the river. We were there in January, but the temperature was mild and there were lots of folks enjoying the park and the nearby hiking and biking trails.

A small artisan winery in the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains producing handcrafted wines from Colorado grapes and honey. We work closely with viticulturists in Palisade, Colorado and ferment Merlot, Viognier, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and local honey. We offer wine tastings, casual winery tours, and sales in our tasting parlour, open year round, Open daily 12-8pm
We visited the winery for a low-key bachelorette party since the bride enjoys wine. Everyone (even the patrons) were extremely welcoming and so knowledgeable about wine and the process of making wine. I loved the focus on sourcing local products and involving the community as much as possible. I've never been on a winery tour before, so I was happy that we got to learn literally everything about Vino Salida's process. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area, and left with two bottles of wine to savor the experience. Might even be back for the annual grape stomp in September :)

Definitely visit, the art defies your imagination! We spent an hour or more dissecting each "art piece". The owner/artist delightful....you leave with a smile on you face.

Neat dirt road circling around a cone shaped small mountain on the north edge of Salida. There is a small observation house at the top where you can see all around and down into the city of Salida. Not overly high but worth an hour of your time to take the drive.

The Salida Aquatic Center was remodeled 3 years ago. This Fall they just completed a lengthy maintenance project. The remodel include new locker rooms and extensive painting. The maintenance project included a complete cleaning of the pool and the lap lane markers at the bottom of the pool are now tiled. This facility is great for all ages and all experience levels. The lap pool temperature runs about 84 degrees. The large play area and adult exercise area runs about 97 degrees. Just a great facility for visitors and locals alike - plenty of space for everyone. We have been coming to this pool for over ten years and they have done a great job keeping the entire facility clean, safe, and very well maintained. Give the Salida Aquatic Center a try - a fabulous fun place for all ages!!!!!!

We are keen collectors of hand thrown pots, so this was a great place to find during our stay in Salida. Lots of potters showing their work here and at very decent prices. I found something for my husband's birthday and it has travelled home in one piece! If you like pots - you should definitely call in!

The volunteer staff at this little gem of a museum is fabulous. The museum itself has many artifacts telling the story of Salida. The volunteer docent was passionate and knowledgeable. Definitely worth the price of entry to learn about the fascinating folks who created this funky little mountain town.
