Mt. Rich Carib Stone Interpretation Center

The Mt. Rich petroglyphs comprise several large boulders set in a deep ravine, with over 60 pre-Columbian carvings. The Interpretation Center offers a viewing platform, recently renovated by a local youth group (MYCEDO) who offers information on the petroglyphs ($5 EC) and a tour around the abandoned estates and villages nearby ($15EC).

It is a must see for people who are actually interested in the history of this amazing island. Carmen gave us a tour down to the riverside where you find the petroglyphs. We could see them up close and see even more (work)stones that can not been seen from the veranda that is looking over the stones. You can choose if you only want to look through the binaculours from above or the whole tour, we went as I said down to the stones. It is pretty hard for people who are less flexible to go down. But it is worth your time and effort. It took us 5 minutes to go down and there we were looking at 1300 year old carved stones! It was amazing! Carmen was very passionate about perserving this pearl of history. Keep it up!

Welcome Stone

Welcome Rock gives you the best views on the whole island of Grenada. It is quite hard to get to, and involves a little trekking, but the views are worth it! You can see all the northern islands, I recommend going for sunrise or sunset.

Levera Beach

An important waterfowl habitat and sea turtle nesting site near Bathways beach.

Reviewed By Barton21

Levera Beach is roughly a 15-20 minute walk of 5 minute drive north of Bathway Beach. While Bathway Beach seems to be more popular, Levera Beach is prettier and a lot less busy. The afternoon I visited, there were just half a dozen kids splashing in the surf. The rest of the beach was essentially empty, except for the guard who watches sleepily from his small hut on the beach. Unlike Bathway Beach, there are no vendors at Levera Beach, so you'll need to bring your own food and drinks. A short distance off shore are Sugar Loaf island, Green island, and Sandy island. They make a beautiful backdrop and seem to provide some shelter from the powerful Atlantic surf. I didn't go in when I was there, but the water did look calm enough to swim there.

A bit of a trek from Grand Anse Beach but well worth the ride. We had our own car so getting out there was a little bit of an adventure of it’s own through the rain forest. A great way to see other parts of the island. Belmont Estate is the real deal - working cocoa bean / chocolate factory. Our three children had an amazing experience. I submitted a review on the site right after our trip with very high compliments for Kelly our guide - he was born for this! From learning about cocoa processing, talking parrot, playing with turtles and feeding the Mona monkeys, we had a wonderful time. Can’t say enough.
