After taking a little uphill pathway surrounded by snow, we were rewarded with the beauty of this snow-covered shrine at the foothill of Mt. Daisen! I really recommend going in winter!

Most of the areas are shaded and it’s not very hot in late September. Bring a stick (or a pair) if possible as it’s quite tiring to go up for about two hours (and I chose the easier summer trail already!). It was a wonderful hike though it was quite foggy on the day I arrived the summit of Daisen. Highly recommend staying in a hostel (ryokan in Japanese) along the ryokan street after the hike. You may enjoy onsen to rejuvenate your body. The area is very quiet and relaxing. Enjoy the nature and Japanese culture!

"Ueda Shoji Photography Museum is a private art museum of photographer Shoji Ueda located in Sakai-cho, Nishikori-gun, Tottori Prefecture. Shoji Ueda is one of the most watched Japanese photographers in the world. The hotel is located at the foot of Oyamayama, which is rich in nature, and from the hall designed by architect Takamatsu Shin, you can enjoy the "upside-down Oyama" reflected on the water surface. "

Japan's major flower park commanding a magnificent view of Mt.Daisen. Tottori Flower Gallery(Hanakairo)-this is flower park where you can enjoy flowers and greenery all the year round. The Flower Zone is surrounded by a one-kilometer circular Walkway with a roof. You can see various kinds of flowers while you proceed along the Walkway enjoying a scenic view. The Rest Zone offers you an environment where you can feel at home in strolling around in the woods. Please relax yourself to the full inn the nature of this vast land, which is as large as 50 hectares. Main flower-Lily(Yuri) The wild lily has a fantastic smell and is associated with images of ''purity'' ''pure love''.''ladylike''.etc.
We were expecting a nice flower park and were instead overwhelmed by this huge, amazing complex of gardens, two domed-areas, forest, water, and beautiful pathway areas. We could have used 2-3 hours to thoroughly visit. Of course there were flowers everywhere, in planters and hanging baskets on pathways, in the domes and other buildings, and seasonal ones growing in the ground. In addition, the layout of the park is well-done. A main covered wooden walkway circles the central area, with the Main Dome in the center and a Jungle Dome on the South side, and other buildings on the East and North sides of this circle (the Entrance building is at the West side). A pterodactyl topiary and stick dinosaur appear near the Entrance and visiting the Jungle Dome sure makes you feel like being in Jurassic Park.

Oyama Temple reaches 1300 years after the mountain was opened. The main hall which was hit by the three-year and four-year fire of Showa was rebuilt in Showa 26. Even now, there are many treasures left, such as Yamauchi Temple Jukain, important cultural property Amidado and Tokusansonson, and as a temple of so-called 'Tandai', it is a famous place of so-called 'San-in'. Reverence as a temple where you can meet your ancestors.
Even though the main hall was closed when we went, we could still admire the temple's architecture with the added beauty of the snow! I could also enjoy ringing a Buddhist bell for the first time!

In Daisen rangeland where idyllic and idyllic scenery continue. Here is a place where you can be immersed in an open feeling like the great plains of the Alps. There are many cows grazing in the area, and it is possible to meet them in the near future. The dairy experience of making milk products at Milk Factory is also popular, and the restaurant at the hotel also has a variety of foods that use plenty of fresh milk. You are simply overwhelmed by the scale of Shufeng Oyama, which rises in the background.
After a trek to Mt. Daisen, what better way to relax then grabbing fresh ice cream? Daisen Makiba Milk no Sato was a great stop, highly recommended. This place was crowded but full of families and happy people using the lawn and enjoying freshly made ice cream. There is a large parking lot here with amazing views of Mt. Daisen. I came for the ice cream and it did not disappoint. The ice cream was thick and delicious, I could have had another one. Other then ice cream, there is a huge lawn here that was full of families getting together, there is a gift shop, and other fun activities. This attraction is a must if in the area.
