Just ten miles west of Ocho Rios, Runaway Bay's stunning beaches see far fewer footprints than its neighbors. It's also removed from the cruise ship herds and pushy vendors. Perfect for those happy not to wander far from their resort, there are a few nearby attractions nonetheless. Bob Marley's childhood home and mausoleum is in nearby Nine Mile. Jamaican history is on view at Seville Great House and at Columbus Park Museum. To explore, rent a reliable vehicle and remember to drive on the left.

I wanted my daughter to learn about historical events in Jamaica so I took her here to view the caves. Well preserved and the staff who did the tour was well informed and knowledgeable which made it rather interesting as he also asked questions which gave my daughter a chance to participate. My daughter is also into collecting rocks so taking her here was a bonus for her as she was able to see how the stalactites and stalagmites were formed over hundred of years. She also was able to gain some knowledge on how the slaves were able to navigate their way through the caves using natural surviving instincts. It’s definitely a place to visit if you’re into history and seeking new knowledge.

Our authentic Jamaican Country Bus, the “Zion Bus Line,” will take you on a musical pilgrimage from Ocho Rios to the birth and fi nal resting place of the King of Reggae, Bob Marley. Your driver navigates the narrow winding country roads to the mountain village of Nine Mile as the conductor regales you with tales of the life and times of young Bob and how he grew up in the hills of St. Ann. This mystical experience exposes you to the world-famous Rastafarian religion, culture and practices. A must for every reggae enthusiast!

The food was excellent, I had the friend snapper (escovite) and my partner the jerk chicken. It’s a chill vibe with the beach right there. Sonia, our server was fantastic, very friendly and very helpful. 5/5 would recommend if you’re in St. Ann’s parish.
