A lovely drive - many superb views - driving requires care - we had a war crisp day with snow and frozen waterfalls - really enjoyed it - road was quiet for us - could be a hassle if busy.- all single track - it is all sealed.

A stunning exhibition of images from Scotland's Northwest Coast. Enjoy free coffee whilst browsing the gallery. Landscape and Wildlife Photographic Workshops. Photographic and canvas printing. Open every day 9am-5pm in summer. Please check winter opening times locally or on our website to avoid disappointment.
Outstanding photography, printed and framed in-house by two friendly and talented fellas, absolute pleasure to visit and meet them both. Located in stunning part of the West Coast, and just a stones throw from Applecross Inn.

This unique and magnificent garden features many species of plants including spectacular rhododendrons, azaleas, trees and shrubs. The best views over Loch Ewe, boat trips, kids trail, wildlife and a stunning walled garden
One of us really enjoyed the gardens whilst the other took the dog up through well landscaped woodland walk.

The basic one-hour tour with friends was, we all thought, fascinating and informative. While the “wee dram” at the end of the tour was nice, the information about the making of Glenmorangie’s lovely whiskies was worth the (very scenic) trip out from Inverness. At least two of us left hoping to come back another time for one of the longer tours.

A lovely place... a sand and pebble beach where you can walk along to Rosemarkie and e if you are lucky you can spot Dolphins (all year round?) and seals as well as multiple sea birds while looking over to Fort George. Also overlooked by a lighthouse. Busy at times with small carpark which gets very busy. A lovely place to spend a bit if time... dog friendly.

With stunning views across Easter Ross to Ben Wyvis, Tollie Red Kites provides close-up views of our most graceful bird of prey. A team of volunteers feed the birds every day and you can watch them feed from the comfort of a specially-converted farmstead building. Tollie Red Kites is a partnership between RSPB Scotland and the Brahan Estate. Entry by donation, suggested £5.
We were on a mini Highland holiday and have passed by Tollie many times and always thought we should go, so having some spare time, we did! While driving to and from Inverness I regularly see the kites flying around, so was excited to see more of them and was not disappointed. We turned up early for the winter feeding (at 13:30) so had time to wander round the hut with lots of interesting information. It turned out to just be the two of us, And the volunteer turned up and chatted with us for a wee while before ‘getting on with the show’ as she said. She was so good and tried to coax the kites in by putting out a small amount of food a few times. By the end there were 8 or 9 kites flying around and swooping down for a tasty morsel. There were also loads of gulls, but it is nature, nothing is guaranteed; but we had a lovely sunny day in January and loved seeing the kites, the gulls gave a good size comparison and the kites are bigger than I expected. Really enjoyed our visit. Only thing I will say, give yourself plenty of time to drive the mile or so from the main road, as it is quite a rough and bumpy track - totally worth it though!

A very interesting museum set inside the original courthouse, the downstairs shows life and times on the black isle, the upstairs is the court room and a mock trial in progress, very funny as the characters were wearing PPE. There are also cells to see and a small shop. The staff were very friendly and informative. Free entry but a donation is welcome.

We made a special trip from Skye to paddle our kayak in this loch as it’s so attractive with the stunning back drop of Plockton itself as well as the surrounding hills so definitely a great place to paddle and some islands to have your lunch on.

well worth a visit either by bus or car There's an hourly Bus service from Inverness Bus Stion to Rosemarkie Fairy Glen Car Park and obviously the Car Park is there primarily for cars... Look to your left from the Car Park and you will see a Noticeboard telling you about the Fairy Glen Walk If there's been lots of rain the walk will be very muddy in places so wear sensible shoes There's a stream flowing so walk up on the Left hand bank and thats it You walk for almost an hour through Forestd, Glades and you'll pass over some Bridges, ideal for playing Poo Sticks..!!!! You will see a secluded pool and then the path rises up for a while and you reach the main Waterfall Well worth the walk and great for photos Alongside the Waterfall is the Fairy Money Tree where you can wedge in a coin and make a wish Then you walk back down and back to the Car Park Carry on through the Car Park and you'll see a path that goes over a bridge over the stream and the path opens up onto Rosemarkie Beach A beautiful setting and theres a lovely cafe open most days

Castle Leod is the seat of the Clan Mackenzie which has been lived in by the same family for over 500 years. The grounds are listed in the 'Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes of Scotland', the national listing of significant gardens. A warm welcome awaits all who visit!
Was fortunate to be able to do a private tour of this castle - very informative - very personal - if you can - do this
