Rock Hill, the largest city in South Carolina's York County, is a charming college town, with the campus of Winthrop University making up one of its five historic districts. The surrounding area of York County is home to the Carowinds amusement park, an entertainment destination so large that it spans two states. The York County Library hosts the annual Patchwork Tales Storytelling Festival, featuring musicians, storytellers, and artists from all over the world.

First visit to the Glencarin Gardens and it was a very pleasant experience. Beautiful sunny day on the day after Thanksgiving. Several families, kids, couples and singles walking the pathways and just enjoying the day. I even found a 'hidden' Rock Hill rocks to photograph, post on Face Book and rehide. Very nice late afternoon visit.

Definitely worth checking this place out! They offer a wonderful homeschool science program during the school year that our kids love. Lots of cool things to explore, a wonderful gift shop with local treasures and a variety of rotating exhibits. The planetarium alone is worth a visit and the price is great!

The young children enjoyed playing in the roped off swim area. There is a life guard and small beach area. The water walks out to about four feet deep. We rented a picnic shelter with two tables and electricity. ($35) There are charcoal grills available. There is not much shade so renting the shelter ahead of time is a good idea. Bathrooms are close by the swimming area. There are swings and a play area with a slide. Don't forget to check in at the ranger station where there is a small store in case you forgot something. This is a nice place for a picnic.

Main Street Children’s Museum offers fun, educational activities created for ages birth through 6 in Old Town Rock Hill. Make-believe in the pumpkin house, climb to the tip-top of the tree house and sail on the magic ship. Enjoy memory-making family experiences and engage your young child in creative, developmental play. Main Street Children’s Museum is inspired by the artwork of American illustrator Vernon Grant, who lived and worked in Rock Hill.
Our visit to Main Street Children's Museum was great for the adults as well as kids. It's a safe, clean, supervised play area for toddlers through second or third grade. Our grandkids had loads of fun exploring the many things to do, physically as well as mentally. We will return visit when our other granddaughter comes to visit.

The park is spacious and beautifully maintained. Great walking trails. It hosts several soccer tournaments. It's an excellent place for birthday parties as it has a couple of covered seating areas and one of them is quite large.
The restrooms are clean and well maintained. Nice place

I absolutely love going to the concert series that the amphitheater puts on. I have seen Clint Black, 38 Special, Rick Springfield, and recently Kansas. There is literally not a bad seat in the house. There is tons of room between you and the people above or below you. There is food vendors and alcohol at a decent price (definitely not what you pay in Charlotte.) I will continue to go to the concert series that is offered every summer.

I was unfamiliar with the sport until asked to lead the local fine arts community to co-celebrate this international event. My creative studies lead me to the excitement of this sport and the 'forward thinking' of the city government to create such a venue in the city of Rock Hill. I recommend this venue for families of all ages to attend as spectator and participant !

The Giordana Velodrome is a 250 m track, great for spectating and great for racing. The staff is amazing too. They are truly service oriented. There are fees for racing and you have to be track certified. But the spectating is free and track racing is the Best spectator sport ever!
