Raymond is a city in Pacific County, Washington, United States. The population was 2,975 at the 2000 census and decreased 3.1% to 2,882 at the 2010 census. The town's economy has traditionally been based on logging and fishing, together with a limited amount of tourism. But recently the town of Raymond has seen an influx of marijuana manufacturing and agricultural jobs after the passing of Initiative 502 in November 2012, which legalized the recreational use of marijuana. Raymond has embraced all aspects of this lucrative, newly-emerging industry by welcoming many new start-up businesses including commercial marijuana grow operations, marijuana-infused goods manufacturing, as well as retail marijuana stores.

We are a non-profit museum with a collection of 57 beautifully restored and conserved horse-drawn vehicles and artifacts from the 19th century. We are proud to be keeping history alive! Come stroll among luxury carriages or check out the StageCoach and imagine travel in the late 1890's. There is an interactive back room that is fun for kids of all ages. The Northwest Carriage Museum in Raymond, WA, can easily be called a world class museum. Every piece in the museum has a story to tell, and Jerry, the owner will gladly relate it. Even if you have no experience whatsoever with horse drawn vehicles, by the end of your visit you will be amazed at what you've learned. It's fascinating. Jerry and his wife, Laura, have traveled the country, finding these often neglected vehicles, and restored them to their former glory. I can't imagine the number of hours, the painstaking attention to detail, and the absolutely beautiful work they have spent on the carriages, etc. Even more amazing is that they have restored each piece to the point where they can be USED. Not that they do, but they can be used just as they were used, in some cases, 150 years ago. I highly recommend you spend a day at the museum.

The Willapa Harbor Golf Course is one of the oldest municipal courses in the state of Washington , first opened in 1926. We are a 9-hole facility, yet with several sets of tees, playing it twice gives golfers a distinctly different feel on our back 9.

The Willapa Seaport Museum is truly a world class museum. It is full, and I mean FULL of artifacts from every form of seafaring, with much of the attention focused on the Pacific Northwest. It is well organized, beautifully managed and maintained, and meticulously documented. Our volunteer docent took us through the museum pointing out particularly important or interesting parts of each display, then allowed us to go back to displays that especially attracted us. I had little knowledge of much of the seafaring world and learned a great deal. I regret we had not enough time to go through it in greater detail, but I also appreciate that it's close enough that I will plan on spending more time there next time.

We completed the 56 mile trail in South Bend from Chehalis. This section was mostly paved. Otherwise the countryside is farmland with a mixture of dirt, large and small gravel surfaces to hay and grass to rutted terrain. One bridge is out and in one area fallen trees took out a section that was easily bypassed.
