Quepos, a small town in Puntarenas province, is located on Costa Rica’s central Pacific coast and is undoubtedly one of the best places in the world for big game sport fishing. However, Quepos also offers vacationers a wealth of other activities to do as well. The nearby plaza has many fine restaurants, art galleries and souvenir shops, most within a short walking distance of your beachfront vacation rental. Book an exhilarating canopy tour, go horseback riding, kayaking and rafting. Learn to surf or watch the surfers ride the waves; you’ll wonder at their athleticism.

Birding and Nature Tours, Central Pacific - Manuel Antonio
We had a terrific early morning birding tour with Oscar Herrera near his village Villa Nueva and in the new birding spot Esquipulas. We saw around 50 different species and Oscar was an excellent guide in spotting and naming the birds. The Esquipulas spot was also terrific (with a lovely breakfast) and an enormous variety of birds very well displayed.

We came out to visit this beach and fell in love with it right away. The first thing I noticed was the locals out there surf fishing. We decided to go for a long walk Northman’s we were all alone. We say a flock of vultures on the beach along with a,few monkeys in the trees. There was a lot of bio diversity in a short walk. I can’t wait to go back and visit again. I felt safe on the beach but was forewarned about the thieves that frequent this beach. It’s a shame because I think this is likely the biggest issue hurting business growth here. Swim with a partner as there are riptides.

We are an excellent option for rural tourism, we offer accommodation in rustic rooms with balcony, private bathroom and hot water, guided hiking trails, gazebos, suspension bridges, cable ferry, typical food prepared firewood Costa Rica, natural pools, waterfalls forests, rappelling tour and transportation. Excellent for couple, family or friends, would be a pleasure to attend.
We visited from manuel antonio. It was a long drive (1hr 10min) but well worth it for the waterfall views, hanging bridges and most of all swimming. Oh and a wonderful lunch. Give yourself 2hrs before lunch if you like to swim at the two falls, otherwise you can easily hike the trails in an hour. We did self guided because we were here to swim not view wildlife. The trails are well marked and short so no need for a guide unless you looking for wildlife. Hanging bridges are fantastic, really high up, great view falls, solidly engineered. The drive here goes through a couple villages so it is interesting but half the drive is on some very rough pot holes roads. The final 6km or so is dirt but very smooth, I was thinking they must frequently maintain it. Didn't feel 4x4 is necessary to this place. Enjoy your experience.

We stayed in Atenas and bought our produce at the local farmers market on the Friday (runs Fridays 3pm-9pm, Sat all day). The produce was so much fresher than what you would find in the local Maxi Pali. Also, saw a huge difference in produce freshness when staying in Atenas vs coastal in Puntarenas. If you're staying in Atenas, try and check the market out to stock up on your produce. Can't go wrong!

You have to pay to get into the National Park which was a highlight of the trip, at the end of the tour (best to get a guide) is this beach. Rather fabulous, with added squirrel monkeys and a sleepy raccoon.

Amazing views. They have a public kayaking launch point, but no one seems to use it. Nice little public park around breathtaking nature. Just another day in Costa Rica. About 10-30 minutes should cover it.

This is a beautiful marina. We were here for both a fishing trip and a catamaran tour. Very clean and well maintained. Great restaurants and shops, if you are interested.

Aguas Termales Quepos is managed by a Costa Rican family. Enjoying nature and hospitality are their priorities. No tiles like in a swimming pool, but the pools are located in a natural environment. You are surrounded by trees and you have a view at the river. You can visit the location during the evening as well. With candle lights a romantic atmosphere is being created.
Beautiful hot springs, relaxing atmosphere, surrounded by nature. A few springs with different temperatures and a nice cool river. You can spend a great day here. We stayed for five days in the ecolodge (tipi calathea) next door and visited the hot springs a couple of times. In the small restaurant you can get some refreshments and a great casado for lunch. The dirt road getting there, is a bit rough, but it’s really worth the trip. Use the app “waze” to navigate, google maps does not know this route. But there is a sign in Hatillo and just follow the road.
