Southern Spirit Cruises, an authorised boat operator for the watching service of southern right whales is pleased to offer you the following services:CONVENTIONAL WATCHING (Regular trip)The regular program consists of an excursion on the Golfo Nuevo waters on board of RIBs (rigid inflatable boats). The breathtaking show of watching closely a whale with her calf, observing a breach or listening to a whale’s spout is an experience you will hardly forget. As from spring, during the navigation you will be able to watch sea lions in their rookeries and typical species of sea birds, apart from enjoying beautiful seaside landscapes. SUNSET WATCHINGAs from September, we will be offering a special longer trip in RIBs with only a few passengers on board. This excursion is the last trip of the day, and is usually chosen by lovers of photography due to the light and peculiar colours that the Patagonian sunset offers us. YELLOW SUBMARINE (Underwater whale watching)This trip is carried out on board of the semi-submersible Yellow Submarine which, unlike other vessels, allows us to watch whales submersed in their environment. Underwater, the perspective is totally different and the experience is similar to diving among them. By means of any of the 40 viewing windows located at the underwater level you will be able to watch the whales while they remain close to the vessel, or you may opt for watching them from the outdoor upper deck as a conventional watching tour.

Tito Bottazzi Whale Watch is a family-owned business and whale-watching pioneer with over thirty years of experience in Peninsula Valdes. We regularly see southern right whales from June until December. We also have the chance to see South American sea lions, marine birds, and penguins. Our office is conveniently located next to the ocean in the first street on the right side down 50 mts from the waterfront. We offer all customers a poncho to keep warm against the wind and water. Protecting our environment is our priority. We are partners with the World Cetacean Alliance and committed to the environment. We abide by the Patagonian Whale Watching guidelines and the highest quality standards to reduce our environmental impacts. Our bilingual, highly qualified staff will narrate the trip and talk about the different animal behaviors and history of the region. <We await your visit!

We toured the entire peninsular, and yet this detour, and the road extending south from here, seemed the least visited. The interior road to the caleta is average, a few nandu (ostriches) and armadillos visible, but the money you hit the coast it is absolutely gorgeous. This caleta is mysterious, the water forms large pools and then rushes through narrow channels, and at sunset the views were spectacular. Besides the penguin/sea-lion colonies to the north, this was the most beautiful part of the entire peninsular that we saw. It is worth continuing south and doing the mostly-coastal loop back towards Puerto Piramides as there is also a beautiful salt flat on the way, and the loop is only slightly longer than the more direct interior road.
