Grotte di Toirano

The Toirano cave site is one of the main tourist attractions in Liguria and consists of the natural cavities of Basura and S. Lucia Inferiore. The Grotta della Basura (which means "witch"), discovered in 1950, is characterized by the presence of prints of men from the Upper Paleolithic Age and important palaeontological finds, mainly Cave Bear bones ("Ursus Spelaeus"). The bones of these plantigrades, which were typical of the Pleistocene Epoch and used to visit the cave during hibernation, can still be seen in the "Bear Cemetery" (about 30,000 years old). Foot, hand and knee prints of Homo Sapiens Sapiens can be found in the clay concretions of the "Print Corridor" (about 12,000 years old). In the cave rooms you will find a wide variety of stalactites and stalagmites, different in shape and size, as well as the typical "mammillary" concretions. The last part of the cave, which used to be under water, is very picturesque, with its peculiar, rounded concretions entirely covered in a uniform, light-yellow layer of tiny calcite crystals. In the Grotta di S. Lucia Inferiore, discovered in 1960, both the limestones and the walls of the wide rooms are covered in calcite flowers and aragonite crystals. The two caves, connected by an artificial tunnel, are about 1,300m long and can be visited in about 70 minutes.

When one passes by and just sees a bronze statue group it cannot imagine that it is actually part of a daily tradition in the city. This monument for those who have fallen during the wars has a bell in the middle which tools everyday at 18:00. Police stop the trafiic around it at that time and it kind of forces all who are nearby to respect a minute's silence. It seems that it is something unique to Savona

Grotte di Borgio Verezzi

The caves of Borgio Verezzi offer a tourist path that winds for about 800 meters inside large rooms, among huge blocks detached from the vault in remote eras. Very rich concretions of every shape: from the cannulae, thin and almost transparent, to the drapes, thin as sheets, to the large columns that seem to support the vault up to the eccentric stalactites, that defy the gravity force developing in all directions. And everywhere the colors: white, yellow, red in a thousand different shades. Due to the presence of various minerals, they make the Grotte di Borgio Verezzi the most colorful tourist cave in Italy.

This beach is especially for dogs. You rent 2 sunbeds and an umbrella. You get a waterdish and spray for if your dog pee's somewhere. There is a dog shower and the provide free shampoo. There is a little fenced field where the dogs are allowed to play off leash, supervision is obliged. Also a little bar with Terrace for a drink or eat. Bear in mind that in summer the gravel on the beach (no sand beach) gets incredibly hot so wear watershoes or so and provide a cool surface for your dog, for instance an extra towel.

Oblivion Bar

Oblivion born thanks to our greatest passion for this job, the contact and the exchange with our customers. We are proud to communicate our knowledge about our products, highest quality and experience of many years. All this enables us to satisfy even the most demanding people. All cocktails, the traditional ones and the most innovative ones from all over the world, are made with the newest mixing methods (essences, "vaporization", etc.). Our products are the best on the market; we also embraced the "bio dynamic" wines and the best teas from all over the world. The seafood appetizer is definitely something not to miss (reservation only). The location is very striking and breathtaking. The villa was built in the '50 by the genius architect Mario Galvagni and it will become artistic heritage. The relationship price/quality is absolutely good because the products are bought directly from importers or producers. The latest innovation of Summer 2013 is the list of 'Fashion Collection' cocktails, the best cocktails created in occasion of catwalks by mixologists of the greatest and well known Fashion Designers in the world. And of course the list of our products has increased in the years. Always the best for the best people, who can understand our work and appreciate it!

This place is absolutely gorgeous, with a secluded beach set against the backdrop of high cliffs. The only problem is that during summer is impossible to park nearby, unless you are willing to overpay for a couple of hours in the parking lot. Apart from that, you may park in the city and walk to the beach through the highway, something we saw a lot of people do but did not have the guts to do it ourselves.

We had a really nice ten-day trip in Colletta for climbing. For the four of us (two couples) we booked the apartment "Mimosa" with two seperate sleeping rooms and bathrooms. Fully equipped apartment, even with dishwasher, large Terrace, barbecue grill. Internet did work very well, at least in the living room and kitchen. The location offers amazing views and is perfect for sports climbing - there are 5 sectors within walking distance (max. 15 min), offering all grades and different rock types.
Only negative: supermarket and infrastructure are a ten-minute drive away, so you have to leave the stunning Val Pennavaire from time to time.
