Hennie Boshoff, acclaimed artist and curator, conducts on most evenings what is called a magical show tour of Villa Kruger, the Art House and Sculpture Garden (featuring archetypes from the Tarot) that he created, assisted by Rossetta Woolf and Isak Williams. As the tours start at sunset the time varies according to the season, lasting approximately 90 minutes. Entrance fee is R200 p.p. Bookings must be made in advance by SMS or email. It is possible to visit the gardens during the daytime at R50 p.p. by contacting Isak Williams during office hours or Rossetta Woolf at weekends after 11am. Important note: these visits do not include entrance to the Art House and will not be conducted by Hennie Boshoff. No visit to Prince Albert will be complete without viewing the stunning and controversial drums outside the Thusong Centre, which Boshoff and his team created.

Wander around the streets of Prince Albert on the evening Ghost Walk and hear stories of characters from the past and the ghosts who don't want to leave! Or join a Historical Ramble and discover the fascinating tales of days gone by as you admire a wide range of architecture. Prince Albert has so many stories! The Walks are informative and entertaining - fun for families but also suited to those with a deeper interest in the 250+ year history and the culture of our small rural South African community.

My knowledge of the Karoo and Africa developed since childhood. Fished and hunted in Africa for the past 45years. Developed a vast knowledge and love of it's people, their cultures and it's spectacular wild life. 23 of these years, I touched base with the bushman of the Kalahari, they left big footsteps in my life. I am a registered tour guide for the Karoo and have a deep passion for what I do. The Swartberg Mountain Range and especially Gamkaskloof also known probably my ultimate destination.

We rode Adventure Bikes into Die Hel. I was on a 1200 GSA.. no problem.. we stayed right at the end of Die Hel.. (about 70km) from the turn off... 2 hrs ride.. with stops for pics.. Road is okay except they were grading it so that section was a bit tricky for the heavy bikes... i survived.. beautiful scenery, a definite must to check out.. Strictly self catering.. so be prepared.. we stayed at Bo plaas.. Hannes huis.. very nice... Bad fire through there just over a year ago.. so lots is burnt.. Im glad we experienced Die Hel.

We are a small winery that produces wines from grapes grown in and around Prince Albert. We are moving the winery to a great new spot in town, we look forward to soon show you our new jacket:)
What a pleasure. The winemaker talked us through all the different aspects of making wine in the Karoo and we tasted the must as well as the full range of very good wines. We also learned about the problems and frustrations that he faced, one of which was the regular electricity outages. If you want to speak to a passionate vintner and taste some good wines look no further than Fernskloof.

African Relish is a cooking school based in Prince Albert in the Karoo in South Africa. It is approximately 370 kilometers from Cape Town and near to Oudshoorn. We run a cooking school in this small town that has an abundance of produce and is famous for its lamb production. Courses are held on a daily basis or over weekends. Some of the weekend courses are themed (charcuterie, breadmaking, tapas etc.) and often have visiting chefs. Daily courses are held on request in either half or full day format. Travellers either plan ahead and book accordingly or visit us on arrival to see what might be happening or what we can arrange at short notice. We also use the facility for events and have had many happy couples married on the premises. We like to encourage adding a foodie emphasis to what they have planned and this has proved to be great added value. Team building around a cooking theme has also proved very popular with participants running barbecue / braai or "potjie" competitions. It is a beautiful venue which surprises and built specifically to enhance a great culinary experience.
We were directed here for breakfast by Johan, the owner of 81 on Church, which was our Guesthouse in Prince Albert. We were so impressed that we returned for dinner. Super food and a very good selection of wines. Service was attentive but discreet. If you are staying in Prince Albert, African Relish is highly recommended.
