Riisitunturi National Park represents the fell and hill landscape of Koillismaa district at its best. The most valuable features of Riisitunturi Fell are the colourful hanging bogs on the slopes, and on the top of the fell the breath-taking scenery over the Lakes Kitkajärvet and the forest landscape of Posio. In the snowy forests, trees are covered with ”tykky”, frozen snow deposits, which in the blue moonlight just seem unreal.
Without a doubt, an excursion to do in winter. Its location is on a hill, so in winter, the amount of snow is infinite and beautiful. All the trees are full of snow, so they look like figurines (you have to have imagination) but it is beautiful. (Very cold)

At the end of the street parking and the beginning of the route.
A 5 km road back through the magic forest, I couldn't stop myself from photographing every meter of the forest ! And the frozen waterfall was the highlight of the trip!

Kota-Husky is small family enterprise in Posio. Our home is right next to the Riisitunturi national park where we do our safaris in very unique landscape. We use only dog power in our safaris, so you really can enjoy the silence of the nature.
