The church is close to the A27 but the best way to visit is by walking from Alfriston along tracks through planted fields. It is welcoming and surprisingly open. There are a number of 18th century gravestones and a war memorial in the cemetery. The inside has murals all over the walls that can be lit up by flicking a switch. The murals are 20th century and represent local life. It is all well kept. If walking you go back the way you came. Allow about 2 hours return and then you can visit one of the many pubs in Alfriston (in better times).

Widely regarded as the best small zoo in Europe Drusillas Park offers a fun finding-out day out. Brilliant play areas including Go Wild! Go Bananas! and Amazon Adventure. Plus a splashpad, Hello Kitty Secret Garden and African-themed three-ride attraction Go Safari! Get nose to nose with nature with our close encounters. It’s no ordinary zoo!
I took my nearly 6yr old and nearly 3yr old to Drusillas a few weeks ago and hand on heart, it was amazing. Not one moan, whinge, sad face, dull moment for the whole day. Daddy rode on the Hello Kitty car in giggles, the 6yr old is now fascinated with the Lemur Family, the 3yr was wowed with the train ride, and I was content in watching and taking-in the laughter, fun and great day we were having. Everything was clean and well stocked, toilets smelled fresh, there was no queuing (apart from to get in, and even that didn't take long), we saw lots of happy animals (no empty pens or cages) and the restaurant food was excellent (highly recommend the jacket potatoes - yum!). We will be returning shortly, to see the rest of it, as the 3yr old was pooped in the afternoon, so we left out the Maze, parrot feeding, and large part of the play area. We can't wait to return for another family fun day. Thanks for having us! x

We came here today to walk the dogs and it's a very easy flat walk, lots of benches on the path should you want to stop. Plenty of parking, which is £2 for the day. There is a kiosk for toasties, cakes, hot drinks. We had toasties, very tasty. Toilets were very clean. A nice place to spend a few hours:

The shop and restaurant are currently closed, due to redevelopment of the entire site. We should be up and running by June 2020.

Great open space with well laid out paths and routes around the forest. Good parking although the car park fils up quickly at peak times and is quite expensive at £2.40 for two hours. There are toilets, a bit basic! Great for picnics, walking, geocaching etc.
Come along and have a ride on one of our miniature steam or diesel hauled trains. There is no charge to ride but all donations will be gratefully received and used to help improve the railway. Our garden railway & traction engine rides will also be operating on most of these dates. Discover Polegates best kept secret for yourself...
