There's more than meets the eye at The Casino, a local landmark on Route 611 in downtown Mount Pocono. Located in the Pocono Mountains, The Casino specializes in family-oriented entertainment. Two up-to-date movie theaters feature digital projection and 3D capability. Food is served directly to patrons at their theater seats upon request, using special trays that fit into the cup holders. The Casino also offers a 1950s-style malt shoppe and restaurant, featuring more than 70 flavors of Hershey's ice cream in season, with special treats like homemade waffle cones, speciality sundaes and old-fashioned treats like malteds and egg creams. A challenging 18-hole mini golf course is also on the premises, as is a family-oriented game room where kids earn tickets redeemable for special prizes. The Casino is also known for its "Dinner and a Movie" specials every Monday and Tuesday, featuring a home-cooked entree and movie ticket for just $11. ($14 if seeing a 3D movie.) Special group packages are available for birthday parties and other special occasions.
You have a clean run place. Food is tasty. They have a movie theater and it is very cool as you can order your food, and they fix it all and bring it to you in the theater. Seats very comfortable. We like it. And after your meal or movie and a meal you can get a scoop or 4 of them with Hershey's hard ice cream. They must have 20 plus flavors. Great family business people that care.

I revisited Callie's Pretzel Factory before Christmas to purchase some gifts for the holidays. They are still giving out free samples. You can still see the pretzel production line and a ten minute video which is a step by step demonstration of the pretzel making process. It's a self guided tour and free. At one o'clock they have a live demonstration and the kids love to try their hand at pretzel making. The pretzels are hot and fresh as they come out. They only make 3-4 of each flavor and only a few batches. After you take the short factory tour, the trail brings you into room after room of packaged pretzels of many kinds. Pizza, everything gluten & salt free, cheddar chocolate,, jalapeno and bacon to name a few. Additionally, they sell gourmet popcorn potato chips and home made sodas. The front of the store is where you pay and they have a large display case of individual pretzels for sale. It is also the place to get free samples. They will heat the pretzels in the microwave if you request it. On the porch they sell hot dogs and have condiments to top your dog or pretzel with. There products are also available online at the website. I bought quite a few treats as stocking stuffers.

Great waterpark. Tons for the kids to do; swim up bar for adults. The way that they issue tickets is very unorganized with people standing on line to be served at 3 window. This process must cause huge backups in the lines. Should be redesigned.

Our son has been wanting to try using a gun. The range has a large selection of guns to choose from which was the reason we picked this particular venue. My husband said that they were super professional, well run and friendly. They give safety...MoreHi there, I'm happy to hear your husband and son had such a great time learning with us! This place was great! My husband and I chose to come to Mountain Creek from Jim Thorpe over Deer Path due to bad reviews for the latter. The staff here were friendly and knowledgable. We were the ones riding after a weeks worth of rain, so it was a private ride. The trail, for the most part, was beautiful. We saw deer and a bunch of wild Turkey. The horses were sweet and friendly. We even got to try trotting twice- it was so much fun. Totally worth the drive!

I had a really great time here spending about an hour browsing the many rooms filled with candles, jewelry, purses, all manner of bric-a-brac and knick knacks. The young lady who was working was very friendly, relaxed and smiling. We chatted for several minutes about several topics. I bought some soy candles, artsy totes, boot socks, and a child's craft kit - all Christmas gifts. I love that the candles are made locally. You really must check out the merchandise and the beautiful old mansion. I shall return to take the haunted history tour of the house, and of course to do more shopping. One visit is not enough to check out the floor to ceiling goods! Fun, fun shop!

You might pass this place on 940 if you're not looking. They have a great selection of chocolate and fudge! Though I thought their fudge price was ok ($14/lb), the chocolate was a bit pricey per pound. I'm not sure any chocolate is worth $20 a pound. However, the staff is super friendly. If you love chocolate (and can afford the prices) this is worth a look! The only reason I wouldn't stop in there again is solely due to the prices, because their fudge was very good.

We enjoyed our stay here. My husband and I and 8 year old came here in April, 2018. We bought our tickets a few days ahead of time, knowing we were coming here during Spring Break, and if they reach their maximum capacity, they will no longer sell tickets at the entrance. Tickets were pricey, $109 each, but once you get in the water park, you can see why because they do have amazing facilities.
There are so many areas for kids and adolescents and adults, for all ages. They also have some bars for adults to get a drink, as well as an adult only, 21 and up small pool area. It was still cold outdoors when we went here for the day, so all of their outdoor areas were closed, as well as some of their slides.
But, there was still plenty for us to do. There were so many other slides that we went on together as a family and as individuals, a great wave pool, lots of play areas, water basketball pool area, surf board learning area, hot tub that also connected to an outdoor area, which was my favorite! The nice hot tub pool outdoor area was like being in a hot springs in the winter. What a fantastic and relaxing feeling!
I also thought for the amount of people that were there, the staff did a great job keeping the bathrooms and public areas pretty clean.
The only negative experience we had was when we had our lunch. We ate at the Zulu Grille, which is right next to the wave pool. When I went in, they had 4-5 people on the registers, but only 1 person getting all the orders together. The kitchen was amply staffed, so the food was coming out pretty quickly, but since there was only one person assembling all the orders, there were about 50-60 people who were waiting for our food for an hour! Now, they have 2 Windows where food was coming out: 1 where the pizzas and salads came out, and the other window where all the sandwiches and fries and onion rings were coming out. The food sat in these Windows after they were done cooking for almost an hour because as I said, they only had one person assembling all the orders. Some of us complained to the manager in duty, and tried to nicely say to her, she needs to pull people off register to help her assemble the food orders. She did not listen and was clearly overwhelmed. Now, I'm not upset at her, because she was clearly very young and did not know what she was doing. I am upset at Kalahari for clearly not training their staff properly. We even spoke to one of the people on the register to go and help her. He left his register, but clearly did not know what to do or how to help her, as the manager failed to give him any guidance. So he went back on the registers. The manager was not even assembling our food orders in any numerical order and was clearly not organized. 30 minutes into our waiting for our food, she went over to the registers and pulled all the receipts of the food orders that needed to be assembled, and each paper tape was about 5 feet long! All the customers were tempted to just jump the counter because all the food was sitting in the windows, but since there was only 1 person assembling the orders, our food sat in the windows for an hour! This could have easily been remedied had the manager listened to all 50-60 customers waiting, if she had just pulled 1 or 2 people off the registers to help assemble the food orders. McDonald's and Burger King do this during the lunch and dinner rushes. Each person on the cash register should have 1 staff member that is their runner who is responsible for assembling the food orders and getting it to the customers. Now, I paid almost $60 for my family's meal, so to get it 1 hour after it had been sitting in the window, it did not taste good at all. As more customers entered, we told them to leave because we were all having such a horrible experience. After I finally got my food 1 hour later after 1 paid for it and it had been made, I was relieved to finally sit down and eat. We paid a lot of money for entrance to this water park, so it is really very disappointing that this restaurant inside the park was not run more efficiently.
So great park, but terrible food service! I suggest leaving the park and eating at any of the other vendors that are just outside the park, but still inside the resort area. This will not only save you time, but also aggravation from your vacation experience.
