We have been deemed many things by our customers and fellow entrepreneurs; “The Crystal Shop”, “Zen Oasis” (Thanks, Detroit Free Press!), “The Incense Place”, “The Hippie Store”, to name a few. The Yellow Pages lists us under “Metaphysical Products and Services”, and the Metro Times referred to us as a “New Age Emporium”. Though any one of the aforementioned classifications might be true of Earth lore, none reveal the whole truth behind the creation of our business, and the mission we strive daily to achieve. What is “Earth Lore”? “Earth Lore” was not an arbitrarily chosen name for our store. It is, in fact, the essence of our business mission Earth: We sell goods from across the globe; literally from the earth as in the case of our vast crystal and mineral selection, and figuratively from the earth as in our eclectic stock of world music, religious tools, and replica items whose origins span centuries, continents, and empires. Lore: Our mission is to provide items with meaning, or “lore”, behind their creation. Lore is an Old English word referring to the meaning passed down on a subject or object via tradition or anecdote. The story behind an item may not always be obvious, as in the case of our selection of body products where one must look to the ingredients to find a vast history of metaphysical and medicinal uses. Conversely, items such as our Greek and archangel statuary have clear histories of belief and reverence. In a sense, our name encompasses our entire business. Why Shop at Earth Lore? Our everyday goal is to provide a soothing, positive, and inviting atmosphere for our customers. We are the place people come to take in sights, sounds, and smells that promote positive energy and relaxation. We are a place where people of all faiths, ethnicities, and philosophies are welcome to shop, learn, and be at peace. We are a place where every item is stocked with intention and care, and every gift purchased (for yourself or another) has meaning. Serving the Metro Detroit community since 1997, we have learned how to share the essence of our mission with our ever-growing clientele. We are well-aware that a vast number of customers come to Earth Lore seeking tools for healing, spiritual growth, and ritual purposes. To that end, it is every employee’s goal to provide the best, most knowledgeable service without “pushing” sales. We understand the vulnerable, often precarious place one inhabits during times of mourning, physical healing, or personal struggle. At Earth Lore we are always conscious of this and, therefore, never seek to exploit, take advantage of, or capitalize on the needs of our customers under the guise of service or expertise.

St. John's has it all: golf, restaurants, hotel, conference center and chapel. We've played golf here many times on their 27 hole course. A nice course, surprisingly scenic in many spots considering it is in a built up area. Recently we've been to a religious event in their impressive chapel. A truly inspiring setting. It's not only religious groups that use the facilities as many local businesses use the conference center for meetings and gatherings. A first class venue that Plymouth can be proud of.

Fox Hills Golf and Banquet Center exceeded our wildest expectations as we began planning our wedding. I had such a vivid picture of what I wanted for my wedding and nothing I came across was fitting this image. My sister stumbled upon Fox Hills' Summerhouse and I was BLOWN AWAY. Not only is the venue surrounded by the most beautiful golf course and grounds, it had everything I wanted. The Summerhouse is gorgeous as is, but it can be decorated in any way you want. Catie, Kellie, and the whole Fox Hills' staff was exceptional. They genuinely cared about our event, and it wasn't just another wedding to them. When COVID began to ramp back up, we had so many concerns. The staff was in constant communication and we always felt at ease after talking over our concerns. The idea of having everything handled from the tables, linens, table settings, bar, and food was a huge bonus. I can say from our food tasting in March that the food at our July wedding would've been absolutely outstanding. We were unfortunately not able to have our wedding at the Fox Hills, but the staff has been so patient and understanding of our situation. If you are considering Fox Hills for your event, DO IT! All three of their venues on the course are gorgeous, and they never surprise you with any hidden fees. I will be telling all my friends who get married in the future about Fox Hills!

Travel back in time through the Plymouth community's example of the American Experience. Learn how the growth of American industry, the advent of the railroad and the invention of the automobile changed America's small towns, especially Plymouth, Michigan. The Plymouth Historical Museum features a late 19th-century Victorian recreation of Main Street, tracing the growth of the small town from the railroad depot to the general store. The largest Lincoln collection in the state of Michigan is housed in a separate room off of Main Street. And a Timeline of Plymouth is the newest permanent exhibit, featuring displays on the Daisy Air Rifle, Ford Village Industries, the Alter Motor Car, World War II, communication history, and much more.
Came across this Museum when we visited Plymouth one Saturday afternoon and were looking for things to do. It's informative and has a well thought out exhibit, it's also interactive which I thought was a special touch. The best part of our visit was Robert who volunteers at the Museum, Robert was very knowledgeable and it was a pleasure hearing him talk and walk us through the exhibits on the lower floor. The upper floor houses the Museum store which has some beautiful jewelry. We really enjoyed our visit and thank Robert for making is especially enjoyable.

We also have orchard wagon rides, a children's animal park, a mill garden with fall mums and October pumpkin picking. Need a quick stop for cider, donuts, or a pie? Plymouth is a wonderful town reminiscent of Norman Rockwell's America. Kellogg Park is the epicenter of its heart and soul. Summer concerts, various fairs and a fall carnival are set in the vicinity of the park and over a thousand people gather. Of course the Ice Festival in mid winter is famous. The park fountain offers a festive touch and a nice gathering spot. It is due to be replaced soon and I hope the new one is as nice as the old. There is an abundance of very nice restaurants surrounding the park. With the historic Penn Theater, established in fateful December, 1941 as a backdrop, one is reminded of what life was like in small town America in the 40's and 50's. My all time favorite event here is the July 4th concert each year paying tribute to Plymouth's serviceman and always ending with the rousing 1812 Overture.
