Located in the Kalamazoo River Valley, this ski area offers day and night skiing and snowboarding, plus a high-speed detachable quad chair lift.
Our family spent the day at Bittersweet. We rented equipment and paid for the hour group lessons. My teen boys chose to snow board and my husband & I skied. The instructors were timely and very helpful. They took time with each individual to help them with the basics. The only thing they could've told my boys how to navigate the chair lift with snow boards. The slopes were nice, the food was ok. I didn't realize that there was a picnic area to bring in food. I will definintely bring my own food next time. We went between Christmas and New Years so they were super busy. The staff were all young and maybe not as helpful as some of the other reviews indicated. I specifically told them that we were new and they didn't really help with telling us the process of where to go next, what to do, etc. We figured it out and had a good time.

There have been great improvements and additions to the museum since they've opened, and it's become the perfect place to spend an afternoon with little ones. Lots of hands-on enriching activities, fun movies, and a super clean and organized environment. Our grandkids love coming here, and we love how we're able to interact with them on all the activities.

The ever expanding Gilmore Car Museum, hailed as one of the Top Five car museums in the nation, features over nearly extraordinary cars and motorcycles from all eras. The Automotive Heritage Center (about 150 vehicles) is Open daily year-round. The outdoor park-like campus of historic buildings (including 1930s gas station, working 1940s diner and several exhibit sturctures)are open April - Novemember.Museum exhibits range from cars of the 1890s to the classic Duesenberg, the elusive 1948 Tucker, to the muscle cars of the ‘60s and ‘70s. Located just off M-43 at Hickory Road near Hickory Corners (20 minutes northeast of Kalamazoo, MI)
A spectacular collection of Americana automotive and automotive related history - likely not duplicated anywhere else.
It would seem impossible to add any additional favorable comments to the dozens already submitted, and shared by earlier visitors. This is an absolutely must see museum, even if you are not a die hard car enthusiast. There is also a collection of pedal cars, a period service station, an actual Walt Disney movie production set, a re-constructed 1950's Cadillac dealership and the list goes on and on, including an original refurbished Blue Moon diner that serves some great lunches. The soup of the day special at the time we attended was apple-pumpkin - a flavor I had never heard of but was it ever great.
A very unique section of the museum provides a large display along with many huge photo boards telling the story of "The Green Book," a chapter of American history I was completely unfamiliar with. Highly interesting and an outstanding presentation!
Be well rested when you arrive as there is so many buildings to tour and so very much to see. It's likely the day will run out before you get to see all the museum has to offer.
Surely one of America's finest - and larger, automotive museums

A large and varied menu, and all of it is really great food. Most interesting historical location (it really IS an old grist mill) retains the unique look. Owner and all the staff are always friendly. It's our newest favorite place!

I love this track. The facility is really great. The track is in great condition and maintained awesomely. There is tons of parking weather you racing or watching. The pit area is very nice. The track staff are always welcoming and super nice. The concession stand has really good food and at very reasonable prices. The restrooms are always clean and stocked. This track keeps the prices reasonable so more people can attend some drag racing. If your racing, or watching, this track is the place to go.

A visual arts museum with 11 galleries featuring 3-4 loaned exhibitions and permanent collection galleries focused on American art. Free and family programming includes a first-Friday Art Hop, monthly Art Detectives gathering on the 2nd Saturday of the month; and a Friday Teen Night. A family gallery offers hands-on fun for children 2 and up, with a black light corner, book nook, mechanical drawing "robots", pegboard art-making, a drawing walli, even a n antique communication device: a typewriter!
The KIA is a wonderful museum with exhibits that are often more common in larger cities. Numerous openings, lectures and special events are offered. The world class Art school offers dozens of classes for all ages and skill levels. Annual art sales offer great locally produced works at very reasonable prices. Gift shop has a wonderful selection of high quality items. Website always updated with current information. A true gem!

Why would you want to kayak one of the dirtiest, highly polluted rivers in not only Michigan but the Midwest? Do you really want to grow a third arm? Island City Kayak folks are good people and are good to work with but the river is really polluted.

You have to go here. Excellent nature center with beautiful hiking trails. Jillian was a most accommodating host and an avid naturalist. Great place for kids. If it wasn't for the humidity that day I would have spent the whole day. Beautiful mature sugar maple/beech forest. My favorite place in the Kalamazoo area.

Played Prairiewood Golf Course while in the area. The greens had "bald spots" and the fairways needed some work. It is an 18-hole par-72 course. Three sets of tees measuring 6,519, 6,026 & 5,740-yards. An OK course for what they charge, but could be much nicer with a little work.
