A nice lake surrounded by tall Ponderosa pines and meadow. Facilities consist of ball fields, children’s playground, tennis court – not in the best of shape, 1.25 mile paved walking trail, other dirt trails, picnic shelters, bathrooms, dock and boat ramp.
What a nothing-burger. Touted as "the shining centerpiece of the community" this micro pond isn't much larger than a McDonald's parking lot. A baseball diamond and few trails around the quagmire, and you're pretty much done covering the entire thing in under 15 minutes. Skip this. It's well worth the drive to go over to Fools Hollow, or even right next door to Rainbow Lake

Perfect way to spend a mountain morning. The people at Porter Mountain Stables are friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. Even more, they make every effort to show they're glad you've come to visit, and to give you a great mountain trail ride experience. The horses are well-trained while still spirited. The trail meanders through lovely terrain and crosses through a creek at least twice. We called a few days ahead to reserve a space, and others we were travelling with were able to get a ride by calling the same day. Pro-tip: if you are comfortable on horseback, opt for the two-hour ride.

From SPL the drive itself is worth the time. The trail itself is great. Running water always adds to a hikes allure and but add in mountain meadows and the visual is a must see.

If you board a horse and rent a rv site discounts available. Trail rides are operated year round...weather permitting! Horse boarding available all year.
We have been boarding our two horses for the summer at PLAC&S for three years. They get excellent care. Actually all horses get excellent care, the trail horses are trained well cared for never overworked very loved! They clean, feed, water and do any special care you ask for. I have ask them to walk one of mine everyday when we had to return to valley. They will special feed if you provide the extra supplements your horse requires. Rachel is very knowledgable. She will help you with anything! We love her. She has let me go on trail rides with her when we have guest visiting and want to trail ride. Beautiful area for trail riding. I recently helped helped her with the kids horse camp. What a great program Rachel has put together. A great fun learning experience. The kids love it. Rachel is an excellent teacher. We hate to return home in the fall. So do our horses!

If you are into nature and hiking, this has it all. First, bring water. Second, bring your camera. Third, wear comfortable shoes. There are clearly marked paths, hiking boots are not needed.
Plan to spend several hours walking around and taking photos. Look for the wood carving in the Pine tree (near the front) about 1/2 way up the tree.
The staff was friendly and will tell you were to look if you do not find the carving, plus, they will give you a brief review of the history.
If you are into hiking and nature, this is a must. If you are not into nature, give this a try, don't miss the experience.

This short loop trail on the Mogollon Rim provides you not only with information about the various flora and fauna, but geological and historical facts as well. The paved trail is accessible for the first part; then you are on a well maintained trail through the pines and across a bridge. Some great vistas from the rim! We came across only three other people during our walk. Parking lot is located just off H260/White Mountain Road in Lakeside.

It costs more to play this course than other courses in the White Mountains.
Occasionally they'll offer a reduced rate in the late afternoon but it's still cheaper to play the outlying courses in and around Show Low and Snowflake.
This is a beautifully challenging course. The fairways on the par-5s are forgiving. The par-4s are moderately exacting while the par-3s are really tough. Don't take this executive course for granted.
If your want the challenge at a price(?)....go for it.

We use this trail frequently, and always enjoy the scenery. Our dogs love it, too. You can make it a short walk, or a long one. The trail is suitable for bicycles, and is not overly challenging in elevation, etc. It's beautiful and different in every season.

Stopped in and picked up some ammo to go target shooting with. Nice store, good selection of ammo, guns and accessories. Nice friendly staff. If you are in the area and need something this is the place.

I have been a customer at Spa Estique for years. The spa offers a wide range of services including facials, massages, pedicures, and waxing. There is also a lounge that includes luxurious robes, snacks, tea, hot tub, sauna, steam room and shower. It is wonderful to mix and match services with the lounge. We have celebrated birthdays in the lounge and at the end of the afternoon are relaxed and stress-free. Anyone looking for a relaxing hour (or more!) should spend time here. It's marvelous!
