Formerly the grounds of a hotel, this park offers stunning vistas and uncrowded trails.
Took the pup on a great hike on the Minnewaska lake trail. It's a nice trail, a bit crowded, but with super friendly people, dog friendly, and nice easy elevation. If you're looking for a strenuous hike, this is not it, but there's plenty of trails that may have a more hefty hike feel.

Tuthilltown Spirits Farm Distillery is New York’s first whiskey distillery since prohibition, distilling some of America’s most prized spirits here in the Hudson Valley. oday, Tuthilltown Spirits distills Indigenous Vodka from apples grown at orchards less than five miles away and the highly awarded Hudson Whiskey line, using grain harvested by farmers less than ten miles away. The Visitor Center offers guests the opportunity to taste the collection of whiskeys, vodkas, gins, liqueurs, and other unique, handmade spirits. Tours illustrate how Tuthilltown’s spirits are made by hand, one batch at a time. Guests are encouraged to stay for the day and enjoy the family-friendly environment. The onsite restaurant, Tuthill House at the Mill, serves Seasonal, New American cuisine and spectacular cocktails in the historic 1788 gristmill. The menu is inspired by modern American cooking, showcasing fresh, local artisan products and ingredients of the Hudson Valley.
Lion - our guide was absolutely fantastic! He was knowledgeable, entertaining and engaging. Well worth paying to get a tour and tasting, seeing and better understanding the end to end process, and learning the fascinating story behind Tuthilltown Spirits.
Tours start every hour so I assumed it would all be done in under an hour so booked in for lunch right next door. Next time I'd allow another 15 minutes to properly enjoy the tasting and purchase selection.
A great outdoor area, plenty of parking, and of course the restaurant right next door.

I've been riding here since I was 13, for the past 21 years now! I've loved it each and every time, and Karen, the owner, is such a dear lady, and I look forward to seeing her each and every time I visit!! The horses have always been wonderful, as is the staff and scenery. I went out today for an hour and half, and it absolutely renewed my love for horses and for riding. This is the only place in the tri-state area to go to for horseback riding!!!

Available to view Mon - Fri by appointment. Please call the gallery. At over 3,000 square feet, DM Weil Gallery may be one of the largest modern art galleries in New York's Hudson Valley. Just a short drive from the center of picturesque New Paltz, DM Weil Gallery offers the look and vibe of an exclusive Soho style exhibition space, but with the majestic Shawangunk mountains as a backdrop. The eye-popping abstract creations of acclaimed painter DM Weil -- has been praised by critics and collectors alike, the gallery's mission statement remains, "Why Can't Fine Art Be Fun?".
My girlfriend and I drove up to New Paltz for the weekend and spent Saturday hiking. Sunday, we explored the town for a while and decided to head up to this gallery as it was so highly rated on TripAdvisor. I can assure you that it is all that its hyped up to be and more. The moment we stepped into the facility, we were floored by all the prints and how knowledgeable and hospitable Ken was (DM Weil's partner). We ended up spending just under an hour looking through the beautiful gallery and we would've stayed longer if we hadn't had time constraints. Afterwards, we got an amazing deal on some prints and we were very happy with our experience. I would recommend to anyone with an interest in art! (It was also remarkably cool and well-kept and we were offered beverages and snacks which was a very nice change from the 90 degree and humid weather!)

Renovated art deco theater showing professional productions of contemporary plays & musicals.
Just saw RED a Tony award winning production that just wrapped up its run at Shadowland Stages (new name for Shadowland Theatre).
You really ought not to miss one of the 5 or 6 summer productions at this venue. The newly renovated space (the entire building) offers amazing productions performed by professional actors. With the opening of their adjunct space and black box theatre down the street the Shadowland will only expand its history of successful productions.
If you are anywhere near Ellenville (located in the middle between Liberty (to the North), Monticello (to the West) and Middletown (to the South East) you really must come. Take advantage of the many restaurants in town before and/or after the show!

A natural skin care day spa offering massage therapy, facials, body treatments utilizing only natural skin friendly natureceuticals products. All our therapists/estheticians are New York State licensed professionals with decades of experience and understanding. Our spa is nestled within the 597 acres Shawangunk Grasslands Wildlife Refuge with views over rolling horse pastures.
I do not usually review businesses online, however, Miracles Day Spa deserves a glowing recommendation. I have been to Miracles Day Spa multiple times and have experienced a variety of therapies they offer there including massage, facials, and body treatments. Every time I go I am greeted with kindness and respect, and years of expertise. I give this spa five stars because I always feel rested, pampered, and relaxed every time I leave this spa. I highly recommend Miracles Day Spa to everyone!

We did the chocolate, strawberry, and wine tasting for $12. We got to taste 14 wines (included one slushie), got a brownie, pound cake with strawberries soaked in their strawberry wine, and a chocolate-covered strawberry. Delicious.
Greg served us, and many others, as they were short on a bartender. Even though he was busy, he still talked to us and never forgot about us. I was quite fond of some of the wines, and we bought two bottles. We would have stayed for a glass, but we had other wineries to visit.

Angry orchard has a nice ambiance for families, friends and couples. The grounds are fairly large but they do not maximize their space. The layout in the main cider house is poorly used especially when crowded. Went on a weekend and it was crowded most of the time was spent on lines. There on two food trucks during the weekends which serve burgers, hot dogs, quesadillas and chicken tenders, fries. Spent 30 mins on line for the food truck. There is another line for cider donuts freshly made in front of you. The pros is that you get a free flight of ciders. The cons you can only get one cup of cider at the bar in a small cup. Cider prices varies from $5-$9. The growlers which are a hit but cant be consumed on the premises are $19. The garden which is by the tree house is 21 & older no small children allowed. There is only one large fire pit and about 10-12 picnic tables outdoors. Would visit again in the spring or summer time. It was definitely a chilly day when I went.
