Delphi Ruins

Reviewed By James L - Kansas City, Missouri

We took the long tour to Delphi and it was certainly worth it. What a magical place! I've read from others about hiking to the stadium and I would agree that it's worth the hike for the views. We had to break off from our tour to give us enough time to do that and I'm so glad we did as it was good to see that part as well.
This is one place i'd recommend to anyone traveling to Greece for sure.

Maritime Museum & Archaeological Collection of Galaxidi

Reviewed By donnambg - Lichfield, United Kingdom

Spent an extremely fascinating hour at this museum. Galaxidi was Greece's main port and huge ship building area. Nothing of the industry left but a most beautiful little port. Items include beautiful paintings of many of the boats, the logs of what they carries where, if they were wrecked and where. Immersed me into the life of an ancient Greek life. Also many tools and objects, guns and militaria. Far more interesting than expected, extremely well presented and signs in English

Recreational Park

What a fantastic job has been done to this wonderful park! We walked all of it in the middle of December with snow covering everything and still loved it and found a great number things of things to do and explore. The water mill, saw and hanging bridge at the start are a beautiful way to start. You then walk in the forest, next to the stream and we had a wonderful time looking for the next hand painted signs of the different activities. Too cold to try the flying fox or the trampoline, but we made a promise to come back in the summer...

Amazingly interesting story about the bees from Giannis and Nikiforos. Thank you guys for your time and sharing your knowledge. It is especially valuable that you certainly have a lot of work to do. And nonetheless you find the time for visitors like us who don't know anything about the bees, and honey, and propolis and... Great experience on the way from Delphi ruins!

Vagonetto-Fokis Mining Park Tours

Reviewed By itsiliAthens - Athens

This is a highly educational activity: we don't have often the chance to visit industrial sites and to experience "how things are done". Here, as visitors we can learn what is bauxite and how bauxite is excavated.
The visit has 3 activities:
- just visit the museum (with audio guide),
- visit the museum and an under earth mining hall,
- do all the above, plus some interactive activities.
We did the first 2, in a visit that lasted ~1h.
We left the site with the knowledge of where aluminum comes from and with greater respect of the work of the miners.

Typical tourist trap selling stuff that a human really doesn't need or want. The area is pretty dirty and very crowded. I wish I would have missed this experience.

Corycian Cave

Reviewed By Amanda M - Corpus Christi, Texas

This cave is not the easiest to find. Ask your hotelier for directions. Or ask any local you meet.
The road up the mountain is narrow, rocky, and steep. It was definitely intimidating. We had an automatic Nissan Micra for the trip and it made it up without any problems, but be advised that if you aren't used to drives like this you might want to hike up instead. Once you get to the end of the road (which in case you're wondering, has plenty of space to turn around for the drive back down), it's a tiny little hike to the entrance of the cave. At first glance, the cave looks small. But once you enter its true size becomes apparent. The cave is huge! You'll want to pack a flash light and maybe a sweater because it's also quite chilly. The cave is a wonder to behold. The history of the cave is sacred and magical - read up on it before you go to have a better appreciation of its isolation.
Remember that the cave is a wild cave - there are no restrooms and there probably won't be any other people there when you go!

Parnassos Ski Center Kellaria

Reviewed By Eleni K

Parnassos as a mountain is a place of superb natural beauty. I am convinced that this sublime environment, was the reason that Delphi was built in this area. Not far from the temple of Apollo and the oracle surroundings, at the end of a road passing through pine Forests, is the Parnassos ski resort. Great open location, high altitude, with panoramic views to the sea, and the Mountains of Peloponnese. The ski center from a private company, passed not long ago unfortunately to state administration. Important investments took place thereafter, which however fade out in the light of the unprofessional center administration. A small example. In 2016 the center hardly ever worked due to the absence of snow. Ski fans were given the unexpected pleasure to ski finally, on 17th and 18th March and the adjunct WE. At ski passes purchase booths no information was provided as to the chalet- mountain restaurant, cafeteria and ski rental area. Coming out the telecabine skiers were informed that the chalet was closed. Those who wished to rent equipment, went all the way down again, others wondered if there would be toilet facilities available, and the rest were anxious about how to cope with thirst or hunger. Going out of curiosity in the chalet though, I discovered that it was UP AND RUNNING, with the same friendly service as ever! Either the state administration is completely incompetent, or there is a plan behind to sabotage the center as a whole, or the private investors who are currently running the facilities in it. The plan is executed though at the expense of client skiers, to whom no sign of elementary respect or curtesy is shown. Hoping for a better management of this great place SOON so as to enjoy it, and enjoy Arachova the traditional village nearby, with its excellent hotel, outing and shopping infrastructure!

Katafygio-Oiti

katafygio oiti is located between the Mountains giona and oiti, it is about a multiactive sports café. You could say it is an , alternative café. This place is unique in our country because, although it is not a ski center, you can enjoy free ride ski and snowboard. The location is in 1245m surrounded by the forrest ,and katafygio oiti is traditionally stone made ,according to the environment. The view is magnificent.the "pyramide" of giona. The 5th highest mountain of Greece which our visitors can admire sitting on the balcony of the cafe. You can also enjoy coffee, mountain tea, a big variety of hot chocolate ,and home made cookies sweets etc . The full of adventure activities take place all over the year but specially winter is the ideal season for katafygio oiti.

A well-labelled and scenic 2 hour walk followed by hot chocolate and cake in the cafe. Perfect! Our 10 year-old enjoyed a brief sortie into the adventure playground, although the much more extensive experience across the road was still being prepared for Easter.

Punta Beach

The cars are prohibited In Trizonia island so you have to walk for about 25 minutes to reach this small hidden beach! It has red peddles, it is very romantic and small with no facilities (bring hats, water and food!)! Do not expect to be impressed by the view but you can truly relax here! You can also sleep under the clear sky (full of stars!) if you are prepared (free camping is prohibited in Greece though)! Sea is also a pleasure!
