Passing through Pewsey on my way to Marlborough i saw this amazing Statue of the late, Great King Alfred and just had to stop to get a closer look, plus some photographs. The roads get extremely busy making it quite dangerous to get to him, but it was worth it to find out that this statue was erected in 1913 making it much older than the one in Winchester, a great find but such a shame it wasn't put somewhere much more worthy of him for more people to enjoy, such as by the river & seating area, as it would be safer & much quieter to view.

One usually drives past white horses . This time we decided to walk up to the White horse with my grand daughter aged 8 . Worthwhile experience for both of us and what a view

Nice wharf in a secluded place. Good beer , haven't tried the restaurant yet but it smells amazing! . Right by the canal too, perfect for a Summer drink with the family.

Little family run caffe and shop in Wiltshire countryside We sell light lunches, great coffee variety of over 10 teas all together with shop full of treasures
We absolutely loved our visit to Sticks and Stones. The cafe is a delight; with its quirky interior, helpful staff, wonderful food and ambience! It is really reasonably priced and ridiculously delicious - we tried the pulled pork and goats cheese alongside the avocado and poached egg. I was tempted by the look of the cakes available but sadly didn’t have enough room to try them this time! We will definitely be back soon, thank you Sticks and Stones!
