Explore 5,000 years of history through prehistoric Indian mounds, pioneer era buildings and the colorful gardens of Mrs. Potter Palmer. Tour a 30-acre archaeological, historical and environmental museum located on Little Sarasota Bay in Sarasota County, Florida. A large Butterfly Garden, picnic facilities, nature trails through a unique environment and one-of-a-kind exhibits are just some of the interesting features included in your experience.
I was really looking forward to visiting this preserve and while it was interesting, at the end of the day it was a bit pricey for what it offered. There are some interesting exhibits but nothing that could compare with some of the better living museums that are in New England. The little boat ride on the Magic was pleasant, but by the time we added that to the price of admission, we were at almost $50 and there really wasn't that much to see. There were some school groups there and for upper elementary students it was a nice resource. The grounds are nice but there's just not a lot there.

Jetties at the tip of this key make this an exciting beach for surfing.
The North Jetty Park is a great beach park....lots of free parking, concessions, great place to fish & great beach too! The entire island is awesome & definitely a place to visit! The only downside- low speed limit & traffic

We went up, from N. Ft. Myers to check out the surfing, we where presently surprised with the amenities and wonderful beach. It was fun to watch the boats go in and out through the jetty. We took a nice long walk down the beach. It was chilly and windy but we still had a good time.
The food at the concession stand was good and reasonably priced. The bathrooms are nice and clean also.
If you want to rent kayaks, paddle boards or surf boards you can from Jetty Rental.

Close to our home is an amazing park to walk amongst a variety of cranes, birds and nesting bald eagles. Good picnic spot and small lake with beach but not sure about the Gators!

Public swimming beach known for its clean, hard-packed sand.
If you don’t mind a long walk in soft, cool sand to get to the water, this is the perfect beach! The sand was very clean, well maintained and there was plenty of it. You probably want to get to the beach by 9:30 if you want to find parking and a spot close to the water.

We wanted to see an orange grove while vacationing in the area, and friends recommended the nearby Nokomis Groves. Indeed, there are a few dozen orange trees next to the parking lot, but half of them look diseased. The major production grove must be elsewhere.
We must have visited at the end of their growing season, because the sign on the door of the fruit store said that they will close at the end of the week - the store looked pretty bare of fruit and the orange juice refrigeration unit was empty.
They do offer some incredibly good fruit soft serve ice cream, but it is pricey. I had the orange, and my wife had the orange-vanilla swirl. A small cup is over $4.
There was only one person in line in front of us when we arrived, but when we left the line had over a dozen people in it, so I suspect that the line can get long.

Started at a place on Sara sea circle. The area is lovely, peaceful, clean and welcoming. Some lovely places to eat, Clayton's, Captain curts, the fish market to name a few. Couple of lovely cafes, a 7/11 and some nice gift shops. The beach is beautiful and clean. Very natural and nice to swim. White sand like icing sugar. I fell in love with the place instantly.

Visitors enjoy going to this store to pick up a few items they view as souvenirs. Crazy people will be checking out and people will keep shopping in their party and keep bringing additional items which causes a really difficult purchasing environment. Obviously, they have a challenge with the staff allowing such behavior and there is no easy solution. We recommend going early when they open and if the parking lot is full, Go at a different time.

My family of 4 (including 2 adult kids) had a blast on the jet skis. Very friendly and knowledgable sales guy. We were celebrating my husbands birthday and this was the perfect activity for us all. The tiki bar and small beach area was a nice bonus. We'll be back!
