15 minutes up the German alone road is the waterfall , which is then a ten minute walk from the car park. I would say the gorge at Kiersfelden is better but its still a nice little waterfall in the Mountains . Plenty of good hiring and Alms nearby on the Sudelfeld Mountains (approx 10 mins away)

There is a summer sledge in Oberaudorf, South Germany. Excellent fun for no effort. We bought a ticket for 6 lift journeys and 3 rides each for about 28 euros (not exactly cheap but worth it). You can control the speed yourself, but don't go too fast. I decided not to break at the indicated areas and fell out of the sledge (not out of the lane). Luckily nobody was close behind me. I opted for breaking a few times on the third run.

If you want a safe, sure bet for a short trip, try the Astl Busreisen offers. I have been on quite a few of their shorter excursions, but I find that the ideal time for me to utilize their offerings is the winter season. A special trip to Vienna was certainly safer than the trains in the case of a snowstorm, as the trains stopped and passengers were actually bussed ti their locations. Not wiith Astl! They are certainly safe, well plabnned, and always on time. In faxct, be early! They will not wait for you ever! However, I do love the security of their lare, air conditioned buses. It is actually cheaper than taking the autobahn to Italy, as the tolls are almost higher than the entire trip. Stop by and see Elizabeth Schmid, also an Astl, at their convenient main office for a dash of her Bavarfian charm and super advice! You won't be sorry!

The beautiful Kloster Reisach is one of my favorite churches, but the Carmelite monks are also the most charming! The location near Oberaudorf, Germany, is also a meeting spot for many of the local festivities, such as the annual Klosterfests held there each summer. However, the beauty of the church and the religious order is by far the real attraction. ahving attended not merely regular mass there, but also a funeral or two, I have seen some of the sweetest commemorations of a life/lives ever! As the church itself tends to be extremely cold in the winter, try to attend church there when you can s[end a few moments learning about the order and its special place in this community!

Very good place for skiing. Just only one issue, they don't care about powdery snow after noon. So as a hint, please try to get there between 9am and 2pm to enjoy it in better way.

The current church is in Romanesque style with a high bell tower. It is a place of worship and meditation. It is a nice place to visit while in Oberaudorf.

Leugsteinsee is nestled between Mühlbach and Oberaudorf in the Bayerisches Inntal. It is also not far from the well known, beautiful town, Kufstein (where the Festung is a major attraction).
This breathtaking lake is surrounded by the Kaisergebirge which adds a special, magical and charming ambience. The lake is surrounded by huge trees and the surrounding area is truly a sight to behold.
A walk along the lake is very romantic - I can vouch for that – my husband proposed to me on a bench next to the lake almost 10 years ago!!
Luegsteinsee offers the perfect ambience and location for a romantic picnic!
It will always be one of our favorite places in the world!
Not to be missed!!

The royalty of the Inntal Valley is personified by the stunning Schloss Urfahrrn. To me it is not just the Altes Schloss, but the new one. As I have been a guest in both the old Schloss (friends had an upper apartment there) and the NEW Schloss, (now the Altes Schloss Urfahrrm) it is easy to say how one can be confused about the original versus the NEW! However, the buildings are both privately owned now, so it is impossible to be a guest there unless you know the owners. There are Concerts occasionally on the grounds of the newer one, but the real attraction is the charming old chapel that seats only a handful of people. Asit has erratic hours, do try to make an appointment or stop by the gate to the Schloss. It is one of the most stunning, tiny chapels I have ever encountered. Hard to get in, but well worth the effort!
