Called "the land that never melts," this reserve on Baffin Island covers nearly 32,000 square miles of ancient glaciers, spiny peaks and dramatic fjords.
This is a spectacular and can be, a spiritual journey. Crossed Baffin from east to west 100 miles inside the aectic circle. Started from Broughton Island and ended in Pangnirtung. This is a "relativly" straightforward hike directionally but needs a degree of fitness and the ability to anticipate and solve issues as they arrive (and they will - weather and the need to be self sufficient and reliant whatever happens-I carried a suture kit - I am not a doctor but was able to put 4 stitches in my friends forhead when he slipped on ice and crashed onto stone). Lots to see scenery that can be both desolate and spectacular. Lots of wildlife. The arctic wolves, walking with the carribou and the peace and solitude, were highlights.
