Northport is a historic maritime village in the Town of Huntington on Long Island, New York. Initially designated as Great Cow Harbour by 17th-century English colonists, the area was officially renamed Northport in 1837. In 1898, in order to localize governance Northport was incorporated as a village.

We usually buy the subscription plan to see all their plays. It is a nice place to see a play without traveling into NYC. And the shows are like Broadway. The also have valet parking which is a big plus in Northport.

Housed in a former Carnegie Library built in 1914, the Society houses a museum with exhibits about the history of the charming village of Northport. The Museum Shop offers an ever-changing eclectic array of interesting and unusual oddities along with silver, china, jewelry, linens, ephemera, and books. It also offer a selection of new books, photographic prints, and signature merchandise.
A great reminder as to what life was like many years ago with wonderful photos and memorabilia. It celebrates the human spirit and the many interesting steps it takes from the founding of a small community to a very unique village; all accompanied by really interesting artifacts of historical interest.
