These ruins and giant rocks were the place of horrendous activities and witness the arab slave trade. People from the north of Uganda were abducted and gathered to this place where slave traders would decide of their fate : to be beheaded or to continue an endless trip to Egypt/Middle east by feet. The British took possession of the place claiming the will to end this shameful business, only to colonize the country a few years later. It was on Sunday, no guide around, and an old drunkard from a village, carrying a machete, followed us and insisted to be our guide. unfortunately, this place is very much unknown and quite abandoned by the ministry of tourism.

PROS: Though we got there in Rainy season and our bus couldn't drive on the roads, we had a very memorable experience. From the steep rocky hike, to the beautiful eye catching falls that keep you plunged on the capture button. Had a moment to swim in the falls too. The hospitality of the guides(2 for safety), welcoming community. You need to make this stop on your way to Pader, Kidepo or even when you are in Gulu Town. Its worth it. CONS: You need to widen the road and add some murram stones to make the road more passable even during the wet season. NOTE: Entrance - 5,000UGx Distance from Main Road - 7.7km Meals - have a Canteen & budget meals around. Boda Boda Ride from Main Rd - 6,000UGx
