A pretty town whose houses are decorated with carved and painted patterns called graffito.
The village of Pyrgi is a very unique village. The residents decorate their buildings is dark grey and while geometric designs which are quite interesting and time consuming to create. I have never encountered a place like this anywhere else in Greece. Pyrgi is very quaint, with typical Greek village scenery and an opportunity to take some neat pictures. The people are friendly and there are several restaurants where you can eat or get a drink. If you are touring Chios island it is well worth your time to drive to Pyrgi.

The Museum of Industrial Olive-Oil Production of Lesvos presents the industrial phase of olive-oil production in Greece. It focuses on the changes brought about by the introduction of mechanical motion on the process of olive-oil production and approaches the contribution of the region's inhabitants to the production process with sensitivity. Its objective is to showcase our industrial heritage in the sector of olive-oil production and incorporate it into the broader architectural, social and cultural context of the period. The Museum is housed in the old communal olive press of Aghia Paraskevi on the island of Lesvos. The buildings and the mechanical equipment have been restored in an exemplary fashion. Thus, you can observe how the equipment functions and how the factory evolved from steam power to diesel engine operation. At the same time, you will acquaint yourselves with daily life at the «People's Machine».

Our family of four hired a car specifically to visit the Museum and view the old ruins. We were so pleased that we did, the Museum is so informative and well laid out with amazing exhibits that bring to life the history of the region. There is also a film that helps explain some of the nearby ruins. The museum is closed on Tuesdays and Bank Holidays. Really the top attraction on the island and amazing value for Money.

Pachis, were Elia Beach Bar is located, has the best and most beautiful and clean beach on the west/north side of Thassos. We are coming back to Elia Beach Bar since 6 years (first as a couple, now with 2 small kids), because the owner is still the same guy and the atmosphere is relaxed. We love the beach and the good music.

Livadaki is at the northwest coast of Samos and 13 km away from the island's capital, Vathy. The beach is sandy with shallow turquoise waters that naturally promote the games and thus make it safe destination for families with children. Despite its small size has a very good organization with free umbrellas and sunbeds, which even can transfer and in the sea and lie there. With nice music and relaxing atmosphere under umbrellas Livadaki will be refreshed with delicious cocktails, drinks and cold beer and enjoy delicious snacks and fresh salads!

Visited based on TA reviews and not disappointed. Arrived early morning and walked the short distance to the entrance.to discover free to enter. Path to follow advise and all the relevant sites have good history displayed. Situated right alongside the coast, is a perfectly tranquil setting and had it all to ourselves. A nice walk around the pines leads to a coastal path and access to a lovely restaurant on the beach frontage for a nice cold frappe. Love archeological sites and would say this one is well worth a visit

Don't miss it if you like sandbeaches. Avoid using any of the services offered here, don't buy anything. The owners an personel of the beach bar and sunbeds are literally destroyng the place. Best idea to bring your own umbrella and towels on the marvelous sand away from the amateurs that run the services.

La scala beach is an oasis in the hot summer. Starting in the morning with coffees, fresh juices, we continue in the evening with cocktails and special tastes at the restaurant.
Really nice beach with clean and soft sand. The water is crystal clear. Very interesting construction and decoration of the bar and surroundings. Good sunbeds with no fee, but you must have a drink from the bar. The stuff was nice and polite and the food/drinks are really good.
