Herr's Snack Factory Tour

Watch the Herr's machines transform corn and potatoes into your favorite snacks. If production is not running, all tour stops will be shown by video.

Reviewed By CIO_Traveler - New York City, New York

If you are very interested in the automation of assembly line tasks, you can learn a lot. The scale of the operation is amazing: 500,000 lbs. of potatoes per day, ten thousand bags per hour, etc. It is still fun if you just enjoy watching dough turned into pretzels or mountains of popped corn rolling by. The kids on the tour seemed to love it. You get to sample chips hot off the conveyor belt and also take home a couple of small bags. There is a gift shop to buy bags of rejects at a discount.

Milburn Orchards

Reviewed By Darren L - Queenstown, Maryland

We decided to take the grandkids to the orchard a few weeks before Halloween to pick out pumpkins. We chose Milburn for the activities available and, frankly, the donuts. Recent weekends were cold/wet, so it turned out to be super crazy there. An assortment of activities, but not cheap. The 1 year olds were free, but the 5 year old was still at an age where she couldn't participate in quite a few activities. It was an ok activity, but might think twice about returning until kids a bit older and perhaps earlier in the season.

Our family and friends have been going here for decades. The trails are well kept and it is a very large park. There is a pavilion where the Park sponsors entertainment/ music. There are rocks to climb and a couple of ponds. You can ride bikes and there are maps available online at its website..

Elk Neck State Park

Reviewed By Kathy398 - Flower Mound, Texas

This lighthouse is definitely worth the visit for any lighthouse lover. Visitors take a one-mile hike on a gravel and dirt path through the woods to this lighthouse. As long as you visit during the hours it is open, you can climb to the top. This attraction sits atop a 100-ft cliff overlooking the Northeastern part of the Chesapeake Bay, making it an absolutely stunning vista. At times, there also eagles flying overhead the visitors at this sight. These birds nest nearby in the trees behind the lighthouse. It is obvious to see why this lighthouse was built at such a strategic location.

Hollywood Casino

This Hollywood casino was incredibly different from the one in Charlestown, WV. It is definitely smaller and somewhat newer- staff was friendly, the casino was clean and there was an interesting variety of machines.
*Something that is really odd here is the this Hollywood casino does not participate in the Marquee rewards program, so if you are like me and traveling, then you cannot build your loyalty with the other Hollywood Casinos

We had an absolutely delightful time last weekend on the sunset cruise. The pilot gave us a smooth ride; the director had some anecdotal information about the area as we cruised, and the bartender was attentive, efficient and pleasant. The director tends towards a "partying" atmosphere, but was able to adapt to our more peaceful temperments. The Bay Breeze has made this cruise (and their other offerings) easily affordable to couples and families, as well as clubs, churches and other organizations. We will definitely do this again!!

Concord Point Lighthouse

Reviewed By Vicki A - Brunswick, Md.

We truly lucked out and found the lighthouse OPEN on a Friday afternoon!!! We LOVED being able to walk to the top. There is a ladder at the top that you have to climb up to see out. Even my husband and I as senior citizens were able to safely climb up and down the ladder and so glad we did. Friendly volunteer there to greet us. It is FREE, but donations are accepted. We appreciate it being open and yes, we made a donation.....of our own choosing. Well worth seeing and doing!
