Yonezawa Sake Brewery, famous for its sake brands, Imanishiki, Otamajyakushi (Tadpole), Nakagawa no Tamako (Nakagawa Frog), and Nenrin (Tree ring growth). Yonezawa Sake Brewery, located in the mountainous Nagano Prefecture. Nakagawa Village is situated in Ina Valley between the Central and Southern Alps of Japan. Since it's establishment in 1907, Yonezawa Sake Brewery has been brewing sake using local rice, and the pure mountain water that it has been blessed with. All of its sake is pressed using a traditional "sakabune" sake press, a time and labour intensive method that creates a light and vibrant tasting sake. Thanks to this, Yonezawa Sake Brewery has been presented with numerous awards both domestically in Japan, and internationally. In 2014, Yonezawa Sake Brewery became a group company of KantenPapa, a local agar and food product company, after the Brewery faced financial difficulties due to the continuing national decline of sake consumption.
