Come and see how we can produce high quality wine in Denmark with a cozy visit. A visit can consist of just a walk in the cozy farm shop where all the farm's organic products can be bought. Read more on Vesterhavegaarden dk. Or you can book a vineyard visit with vine tasting. It consists of the following: The visit starts with a tour in the farm's wine and apple orchard. Including the history of the winery, plant systems, grape and apple varieties, as well as information of how the vines and apple trees cultivated and pruned. Not least, the newest and only in Denmark and Nordic: "Pergola" system for wine plants. Then a look down into the cozy wine cellar where the oak barrels are stored and located. Finally, a visit to the winery and the farm shop where we talk about the wine production after the harvest. How do we make our stunning Rosevine.
I've visited Denmark many many times over the years from the UK and thought I knew the country pretty well until I visited Vesterhavegaarden and discovered this extraordinary hidden vineyard producing some of of the best wines, cognacs and calvados I've ever sampled anywhere in the world! Easily accessible from Copenhagen, it's worth going down there for the views and landscapes alone but once the host and self-taught wine producer Jesper Rye starts his tour, his boundless enthusiasm and detailed knowledge of wine pours out and you will leave there with an infinitely better knowledge of wine and this beautiful local area than when you arrived. The tour includes informative sampling and the wonderful hospitality of the whole family is free! I can't recommend this attraction enough.

Gavnø Chapel was indeed build in the name of faith in 1402 and is identical with the convent church from the 14th century, which Queen Margrete the 1. let build one of only two convents in Denmark for the Dominican nuns.
