Local designer Kara Cooper started Mount Vic and Me in 2013 as an online store with stockists throughout Australia. In October 2017, she opened her studio on the highway at Mount Victoria. This is also the home of 'Blue Mountains Socks' by Mount Vic and Me. These bold designs are created here in Mt Victoria and proudly made in Australia. Grab yourself a pair on your travels! There are also greeting cards, tea towels, fabrics & original art. She stocks some local designers too - jewellery, skincare, toys and handmade soaps. There is something for everyone! Due to the growth of business in online and wholesale, Kara is using the space as a creative studio so it may not be open all the time. Look out for the A-frame board out front and flags to see when it's open or email Kara. Check website, facebook and instagram for daily updates.

Traversing the Blue Mountains (1813) was the most significant accomplishment in the expansion of the early settlement of Sydney Town. This point was where that early expedition arrived, finally traversing the "Indomitable Barrier" and opening up the Western Plains to grazing and agriculture. The huge obelisk and other information panels at this site give a very good account of the significance of this site. There are several walking tracks that begin from Mount York, but for me the most significant is Cox's Road, which was the first "road" down into the Hartley Valley. Should you have time, a drive down Mt Victoria Pass (convict built bridge remnants still observable), into Hartley Vale to visit the Hartley Vale Cemetery is a "walk back into the past". Local tourist centres can supply a map to find this Lookout. Additionally, the views from the Lookout are exceptional. Camping sites are nearby.

Award winning volunteer run, not for profit museum focusing on local Mount Victoria and District history from Medlow Bath to Lithgow. Situated in the Mt Victoria Railway Station the museum has displays in 16 rooms of the two storey sandstone heritage listed building.
If you visited the Mount Victoria Station you could miss this hidden gem of local history and information. It is great to see part of the local history begin preserved by knowleadgable people. Would recommending taking a turn of the highway and taking a few hours to visit.
