Housed in a Tudor-style building that was once William Cane's Good Time Stable, this museum honors the sport of harness racing through its history, its heroes and its story today.
The museum is very interesting and the gift shop is lovely. There is harness racing in the summer, especially during the Great American Weekend Fair, which is usually on the Fourth of July weekend. That has tons of great artisans and vendors and a great variety of food as well as entertainment all day. Its a great weekend. I have attended many business events at the museum in their banquet rooms which also are used for formal gatherings such as weddings, etc. Its worth a stop if you are in the area.

I've been riding here since I was 13, for the past 21 years now! I've loved it each and every time, and Karen, the owner, is such a dear lady, and I look forward to seeing her each and every time I visit!! The horses have always been wonderful, as is the staff and scenery. I went out today for an hour and half, and it absolutely renewed my love for horses and for riding. This is the only place in the tri-state area to go to for horseback riding!!!

Soons puts their Heart and Soul into everything they make. Everything is Fresh and Baked to perfection. The Pies, Fudge Brownies, Cider Donuts, Chocolate Chip and Oatmeal Raisin Cookies are the best. They have a wide selection of different salsa's, homemade peanut/cashew butter, fresh produce, just to much to list. Prices are very reasonable, and the Staff is Friendly, Helpful and ready to help with any questions. Betty Wilchek

We go here when we can to enjoy a bit of family competition at mini golf. But this time it was sad. People have obviously gone around the courses and intentionally damaged things. Additionally the course coverings are worn and need to be replaced. Still fun but not like the earlier days.

Hot air balloon rides in the Lower Hudson Valley. We are just an hour from NYC and even closer to NJ! Come see the rolling green hills and beautiful countryside of Orange County, NY. Fully insured flight operations. Voted Best in the Valley! Reservations required, call today!
My wife and I Hate Heights and were a little apprehensive to fly. Our children 8 & 11 not so much.We were notified at 2pm that we were good to go for our 6pm flight. We met the crew at the Airport and were greeted with smiles and Most of All a Sense of reassurance. They drove us to the lift off location where we climbed into a basket that had four sections. Two people per section and one in the middle for pilot. We were soon flying above the clouds and looking out as far as the eye could see. The flight lasted about an hour but passed too quickly. We landed near a corn field and celebrated with champagne. It is so peaceful and calming as if you were on a beach watching waves. This is a Must to Do in Life!

After a day of birding the black dirt region of Orange County, we needed a break and just happened upon this lovely distillery. For $5 we tasted three craft spirits grown, and distilled on site. We could smell the soothing scent of barley, like bread baking, and enjoyed chatting with the distillery master while sipping our libations. I especially liked the Vodka and the honey flavored whiskey and now have the bottles in my liquor cabinet to share with friends while I rave about this special place and recommend a visit.
When we return I will be sure to pack a lunch to sit at their picnic table and enjoy this special place.

Hard Cider and NYS craft wine, spirit, and beer tasting room open seasonally March to Dec. 31st, by appointment Jan. 1 to Mid March.
We read about Orchard Hill in the 2016 New York State guide to cider mills in the Hudson Valley.
After driving to the address we finally noticed a small sign that said tasting room. It is really an adjunct to the Soons Orchard indoor farm store.
Since the publication mentioned a tour when we got inside we made inquiry. We were told there is no tour and we were not given any information about the cider distilling process.
The tasty room was tiny perhaps 20 feet by 20 feet. I decided to try the tastings. Except for the last item they were poured one after another into the same glass so that the flavors melded together. My wife decided not to try the tasting. When I offered her a taste from my glass our server appeared to take umbrage. This whole process took less than five minutes.
The right side of the room consists of shelves containing alcoholic beverage. The majority were not produced on site.
While the servers were knowledgable about their products I believe that you can obtain a more complete experience at other cider mills located in the vicinity.
