10 Things to Do in Middlebury That You Shouldn't Miss
Middlebury survived being almost entirely destroyed during the Revolutionary War to become the home of Vermont's original marble quarries, as well as a popular vacation destination, filled with charming country inns. Middlebury offers visitors the opportunity to shop for crafts, folk art and locally grown produce amidst beautiful woods and farmland. The nearby village of Ripton features the Robert Frost Wayside Trail, leading poetry fans through the woods that inspired his most famous poems.

Middlebury College is absolutely Awesome! My daughter is going there for a 7 week language program. She has gone there twice for German and now for French. The staff are amazing. Everyone is professional , laidback and helpful. Great experience that everyone should try at least once.

Travelled four hours just to come visit the Woodchuck cider house.
Good:
-20 different ciders on tap, so many good flavors
-Friendly staff.
-VERY reasonable prices 3 bucks for 4 samples, 1.50 for 4 oz samples, and 5-7 for pints, bigger takeaways also available.
-Reasonably price gift shop
-Easy to park and find
-Many events during the week, Thursday was pizza night 2 bucks a slice
Bad:
-Closes at 18:00
-Self guided tour was very lacking, could be done in 5 mins, could have more substance
Suggestion:
-Don't stay in Middlebury as there is nothing to do, also DON'T stay at the Middlebury Inn because it's a SUPER overpriced motel!
-Have a DD (designated driver) so you can drink as many as you want.

Fabulous place to get your vino! The wine tasting is great, many great wines to choose from, glassware and other Bacchus accessories available in the shop. The vineyard is idyllic Vermont countryside. Oh, and the wine glass is part of the purchase for the wine tasting.
The Firelight is an ice wine (way cool), it's a delicious dessert wine. I was also exposed to a new wine, Cassis, black currant wine (absolutely decadent, had to get a bottle).

They had 2 featured beer flights but allowed me to customize one of them on a Wednesday afternoon. The restaurant part is super cute and casual inside, with a view of part of the brewery... very cool. The menu is typical bar food but very fresh - hot dogs, salads, sandwiches, etc. The deviled eggs are delish!

My husband and I visited the UVM Morgan Horse Farm in Middlebury, Vermont on the way from Burlington, Vermont to Lake George in New York. Both the video presentation and guided tour gave very good background information on Morgan Horses, including their history and were very interesting. Additional details were provided in the write-ups on display in the barn. The horses on the farm are beautiful and nice to watch. The grounds were scenic as well as well-maintained. The main barn is quite unique looking and a good representation for this National Historic Landmark. It was also a scenic ride to get there going by way of the back roads. It is definitely a recommended place to stop by and visit and to enjoy this quality breed of horses. There is even a picnic area on the grounds.

What a surprise while looking for some covered bridges in this area - a very well maintained playground, and play area. Our kids loved the change of scenery, and had fun. If passing through it would be a great photo op or stop to get out of the car. Thank you to the municipality responsible for the upkeep!

The Town Hall Theater was built in the 1880's with a theater over the town offices which were in the basement - first floor. The restoration completed almost ten years ago provides a vibrant theater space in which many performances are given by local and national groups, to include screenings of HD Met Opera and National Theatre performances. THT provides a large number of educational programs and there is the small but beautiful Jackson Art Gallery in the old town offices.

The Middlebury College Museum of Art is a true gem and a must visit. The collection on display is first rate and extremely well presented. The descriptions accompanying the works are thorough and very informative. The collection is surprisingly extensive, but the works on display are not overwhelming and do not wear one out. You should allow 75 to 90 minutes for your visit. There is no admission charge and voluntary donations are accepted.

Small distillery with a part-time tasting room staffed by the owner and chief distiller. What fun to sample a variety of his local distilled products, which run from gin to whiskey to rum to cordials. Our favorite was the house coffee liqueur; we don't think we'll ever be able to choke down a Kahlua again.
