Please note that Naikoon is a large provincial park and that Agate Beach and Misty Meadows are well over half an hour apart. While hiking to the Pesuta is a great experience, it is much closer to Misty Meadows (Tlell area) and not within walking distance from Agate Beach. Agate Beach has oceanfront campground spaces that, while not especially private, afford you easy access to the rocky beach. Most stones are pretty smooth there though. Despite its name, this isn’t the best place to find agates. You’ll have better luck at low tide if you park at the Tow Hill Community sign on the way out to the beach and access the beach from there. Tow Hill/Blow Hole is Also a great experience. You can take either a flat trail out To Blow Hole (the viewing platform is wheelchair accessible!) or hike up to the top (2 lookouts, steep in sections). Regardless of time of year, be prepared for changing weather conditions including fierce winds and rain. Even in warmer temperatures the wind can make for a chilly beach stroll.

This walk is a couple of hours long if you go right round the sanctuary. The paths are well laid out and kept nicely and you have the sounds of so many birds. We encountered deer along the way and saw many beautiful sandhill cranes too. This is a lovely way to have a gentle walk and enjoy the quietness of this sanctuary.
