10 Things to do in Marzahn-Hellersdorf (Borough) That You Shouldn't Miss

September 11, 2021 Chanda Heide

Berlin is an edgy city, from its fashion to its architecture to its charged political history. The Berlin Wall is a sobering reminder of the hyper-charged postwar atmosphere, and yet the graffiti art that now covers its remnants has become symbolic of social progress. Check out the Weltzeituhr (world time) Clock, topped by a model of the solar system, then turn back time by dining at the historic Zur Letzten Instanz, a 16th century restaurant that was frequented by Napoleon and Beethoven.

This was a great afternoon: five of us (friends) booked in with Gerry and we got an amazing afternoon event. It was a game show based competition in various areas of tactics, games, quizzes, fun gadgets and sports (don't worry, you don't have to be an athlet...it's all very fun and easy to get into). Basically it all includes stuff, that you always wanted to try but never got around to doing it (imagine trying everything in a toystore...). All in all we stayed for three hours and Gerry hosted us throughout the entire event. Depending on the weather there are heaps of games for in- and outdoors. I would definitely book again. Perfect for special occasions such as birthdays, bachelor parties, etc. as well as just a fun afternoon for private or professional teambuilding. Groups can be smaller or larger and Gerry will make sure that you receive an experience that is specifically tailored for you (maybe language or other speicific needs available). Additionally, whatagame is located in the fun area of Kreuzberg, easy to get to and surrounded by heaps of bars and restaurants to visit prior or after or both...Thumbs Up!

Garten der Welt

If you like the nature/gardens/flowers, the Garten der Welt is a MUST in Berlin! The area is really big, with various small or big gardens, such as Brazilian, Indonesian, English, some from Africa, Renaissance, Japanese, Korean, greenhouse, Oriental - my favorite.... with several snacking/eating points, and two types of tickets - with or without cable car (cost 7/9 eur), some little cows, big labyrinth (we got lost there :)), place for children, water path... really you can spend there whole day, in every corner you will find something interesting. Plus, after 17.00 is the entrance for free.

T4 - Memorial for the Victims of the Nazi Euthanasia Program

Reviewed By dommo55 - Haywards Heath, United Kingdom

We stumbled across this while walking from tiergarten and learnt all about an atrocity which I had no idea about beforehand. We spent about 15 minutes reading all the information describing the persecution of those with mental disabilities deemed undesirable in the Nazi regime resulting in either their murder or sterilisation. It is a truly harrowing memorial well worth seeking out.
