The locals are unanimous that Antunes, with its wide sands and great views of the reefs across a wide lagoon is the best of all the ten Beaches along the coast of Maragogi. There are no hotels or pousadas on the beach. Just two groups of rental cabins. This makes for a beach that is mostly deserted. A real treat and has easy access from the main road.

This is the beach with one of the best ways to walk to the reefs and pools at low tide. But, protect your feet with sneakers of beach shoes. I enjoy snorkelling at some of the more hidden pools. This is the beach of the Gran Oca Resort. It has had a lot of erosion in front of the hotel, but that's what makes it easier to walk to the reef. On both sides the Beaches are great for strolling at almost any time.

This is a spectaclar, but small beach that is just a coconut plantation on a beautiful part of the lagoon in front of the the coast line of the Municipality of Maragogi. Its wide and hard packed sand makes it ideal for walking and continues on south to the best beach of the region - Antunes. Xareu is directly to the south of the Grand Oca Resort (ex-Miramar).

This beach is narrowing due to erosion. But, it has a spectacular sandspit that reaches almost to the reefs. Tourists can walk out a marvel at the views.

Really beautiful place to see fishes and to dive. If possible make the cylinder dive. Worth every penny . Fishes and sea life to see with fishes swimming in front of you. Clear water and beautiful beach. Nice place to make pictures under water with your go pro.

Natural pools among coral reefs, where you can walk. Bring your own snorkel+mask and make sure you book the visit when the tide is below 0,8m, so you can enjoy a lot more. It´s not great barrier reef, but you will see lots of life.

Peroba is a long and very active beach. It has many beach bars and some great restaurantes. There are many types of Chalets, hotels and pouadas all along it extention and it is close to the main road. It get rather crowded in season and on most weekends. But, it is a fun place.

One of the best and most pleasing Beaches of the ten of Maragogi's wonderful areas. Home to the Hotel Praia Dourada and also the Day Turism mecca Pontal de Maragogi. Funny, you hardly notice these attractions. The beach is wide and long with very beautiful views of the lagoon. All this just to the north of the Maragogi City Center.

Given the magnificent beauties of other Beaches you may reach in Alagoas, such as Praia do Patacho, Prai do Marceneiro, Praia do Toque, Bitingui and so on, Maragogi disappointed me. Too many people, invariably the Beaches are more crowded and dirty, more poverty and children constantly approaching you to try and sell art. Having known other Beaches before reaching Maragogi in the afternoon, I don`t regret visiting, but also don`t regret staying somewhere else.
