We stopped here on the way to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Because Pierce Stocking Drive and some other spots in the SBD area are closed (as of summer 2020), I would have to say that this is the best view of Lake Michigan at the moment. Parking is free, and we enjoyed a picnic here on one of the benches.

We stumbled across this beach when visiting the lighthouse and pier. Lots of parking, really beautiful and clear water. Public restrooms, concession stands, and free parking all right beside the beach. While the first street beach got lots of waves the day that we were there, the 5th street beach had no waves as the pier blocked them all. Something worth keeping an eye on depending on if you want waves or not!

This preserved Lake Michigan car ferry offers tours in the spring, and summer. It doubles as a unique hotel in the summer. In October it is a haunted house. The Acacia has self-guided tours and is also available for overnight groups.

A really nice beach that we stumbled across while driving up the coast. Public restrooms, pavilions, playgrounds, and free parking are plenty. The waves were great the day that we were there and the color of the water was fantastic.

Absolutely beautiful views! Get to the beach off 5th street before 11am and find plenty of parking. The lighthouse is painted perfectly and the pier is nice and wide to stroll on. **beware of some wet spots that can be slippery probably from algae growth** Better than most for families with small children, or strollers, etc. The 5th Street beach had a concession stand that opened around noon, and clean bathrooms.

The riverwalk is very interesting as it runs along the river shoreline walking past boats and the downtown area then runs out over the water, wandering back to shore and the sandy area to the beach and on out to the pier. It's great for a stroll or an early morning run. Beautiful!

Camped with my immediate family (daughters, future son in law, and infant granddaughter) this week. The campground is very nicely maintained and has nice amenities without being too “comfortable” for our tent camping family. The site had a slope but we made it work. Loved being so close to the lake even though access is no longer an option (we were aware of it because researched in advance). A lot of beautiful trails to walk along the Lang and across the road are many through the forest with abundance of wildlife. Only disappointment was the many campers who ignored the clear sign posted to wear masks when entering restrooms and the park office. Otherwise social distancing was respected and most were courteous of others as far as noise etc. there were a lot of dogs so I could have taken mine and not worried about the occasional barking she may have done. I marked choice Sites and many trails I was not able to walk so I can make the 2 hr drive in the future with my dog. We also loved the 10 minute trip to the beach at First street beach in Manistee. Beautiful Large beach with lighthouse, pavilions, snack bar, restrooms, close parking, and everyone maintained social distancing.
