We stopped in unexpectedly to this quiet garden not expecting much. This is a hidden gem for Canterbury. We meet the Gardener who was a wonderfully friendly person. The view out to the bay from the car park was amazing, seeing the flat Governors Bay sea, and the suns rays on the water. The range of sculptures throughout the garden was excellent and each one put you in thought. The gardens were immaculately cared for from formal, cottage, hedges and native bush. Each area had a little surprise and the different heights gave me another way to view of each area. A Fabulous garden all should visit. We will be back again.

Perfect spot for a Saturday morning visit, with loads of yummy food options including specialty cheeses, breads, venison, gourmet burgers, freshly roasted coffee, etc. Even just taking some time to sit and people-watch is fascinating - lots of different types of people out with their dogs. Parking can be a problem, so arrive early. Well worth a visit.

We are an historical volunteer-run museum in the port town of Lyttelton. We lost our building in the Christchurch earthquakes of 2010/2011. But we saved most of the collection, which is now in safe storage as we advance plans to build a new museum in the heart of the community. We have secured a site in Lyttelton's main street and hope to re-open in 2020. Visitors will then once again be able to engage in the many stories of Lyttelton Harbour/Whakaraupo.
Experience the extensive local marine life of picturesque Lyttelton Harbour on a memorable two-hour wildlife cruise aboard our new catamaran. Watch the rare Hector's Dolphins found only in New Zealand. As well as dolphin watching you'll engage in a spot of sightseeing and hear about the history of the area. Only 15 minutes from central Christchurch. Free shuttle buses to the Marina depart regularly from the Cathedral Square in the CBD. Departs daily at 1.30pm.
