My partner and I spent a weekend trying new wineries and exploring the Bench area. We are experienced wine enthusiasts who are quite familiar with Niagara on the Lake, but had never spent much time in the Bench. Kacaba winery was one of our favourite stops on this weekend. From booking our appointment to the tasting to leaving with a few bottles, we had nothing but the best experience and service. Mark gave us an excellent tasting experience, and took the time to find out what we were interested in (big, bold, beautiful reds!) -- of which Kacaba has plenty of. The only concern we had was how many bottles of wine we couldn't help but purchase! Definitely a must-stop spot if you're looking for friendly and knowledgeable service and some outstanding wines. We will definitely visit again.

Open all year, Vineland Estates Winery is not only the home of fine wine and cuisine, but an unmatched touring facility and wine country destination. At this picturesque venue, extensive vineyards on the bench of the Niagara Escarpment provide the stunning backdrop to a unique cluster of carefully restored historic buildings.
It has been 20 years since I got to visit Vineland Estates (kids and life just kinda happen) and upon entering the wine shop, I was immediately taken back to the many previous happy times that I had while visiting. I was amazing to sit in the loft and sample some of their splendid wines and look out over the estate and the Niagara Escarpment. With all of the uncertainty going on on the world, it was a nice reminder that better days lie ahead. Next time we visit, we will be sure to visit the restauruant for an exceptional meal. If you are looking for a place where you can relax and enjoy life, Vineland Estates is an excellent option.

One of the first true boutique wineries in Niagara with vineyards first planted in 1980. Thirty Bench has hit full stride in the last few years with the focus on small lots of low-yield handcrafted wines. The winery has earned numerous accolades, including Canada's Best Small Winery of the Year 2015 and Winemaker of the Year 2015. Single-block, old-vine Rieslings are the soul of Thirty Bench; equally fine reds and Chardonnays have also emerged since the 2005 vintage. At the winery, enjoy personalized seated tastings with beautiful views of the vineyards and Lake Ontario in the distance. A visit to the rustic winery, or joining their email list, is the best way to access the winery's new and library wines. Creekside Estate Winery has become a haven for wine enthusiasts. A small premium producer, Creekside is known for being both quirky and irreverent, but also generating some of the best wines in Canada. Creekside specializes in grape varieties that are a rarity in Niagara such as Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc. The winery is winning top awards in national and international wine competitions. Key wins for the winery include Ontario's Best Red Wine. Recently the winery expanded its retail facility, and launched The Deck at Creekside. This spacious covered deck offers a scenic view and offers lunches throughout the summer. The winery also features one of Ontario’s first and largest underground barrel cellars. Our retail tasting bar is also equipped with some of the friendliest and knowledgeable folks in town, making a visit to the winery a comfortable, casual and fun experience.

The Ball's Falls Conservation Area is definitely worth a visit because of the natural beauty of the place and the history. First, a warning. Twenty Mile Creek, which flows through the area, dries up by early summer leaving very little water flowing over the falls. That being said, fall is a gorgeous time to visit with beautiful colours to be seen along the broad trails and dangling over the gorge. Entrance fee is $8 a person and includes parking. A number of buildings on the grounds have been reconstructed including the grist mill and there are many information boards. One can also see the ruins of the original mill near the upper falls. You only need an hour or two to thoroughly take in all of the sights and it is very close to Jordan and Niagara Wine Country.

Original in product, bold in flavours, and audacious in branding, Megalomaniac crafts wines of distinction—but with a touch of sass. Resting upon 120-acres on top of the Niagara Escarpment, Megalomaniac provides outstanding views making the winery a must-see attraction.
Our group of 3 went to this winery and were impressed with all aspects of it. Even on a dreary winter day, the view is amazing and the winery itself is very, very beautiful. The staff were very pleasant and we had a great time.Their selection of wines is well varied and I signed up for their wine club on the spot. I would love to go back in the summer or fall just to see how beautiful the locale looks. Definitely recommend to all wine lovers!

Stopped by here to see Lake Ontario on our way from Toronto to Niagara. Very easy to get to off of the highway and park has a nice big facilities building and view of the lake. We were only there for a little less than an hour, but it would be a very nice place to spend time. They had a poster saying there were concerts on Tuesdays, which they were setting up for while we were there.

At Di Profio Estate Wines, we are driven by a passion for great wines and great experiences. Through respect for our vineyards and the fruit that they bear, we craft wines that express a sense of place, providing an opportunity to join us among the vines.
What a wonderful winery. We had the pleasure of Chatting with and being served by the owner and his wife. A wonderful couple. I enjoyed the kitchen zinc and the teachers pet special select late harvest dessert wine. We will be back to try their Appassimento wine later in the spring.

Bench Brewing Company is proudly situated in the benchlands of the Niagara Escarpment. Home to Ontario’s finest agricultural lands, our farmhouse approach to craft brewing will capture the unique terroir of the region just as it does for wine. Breathing new life into the historic Maple Grove Schoolhouse in Beamsville, our site features a three-acre hops field, a barrel-aging and wild ale program, a taproom, beer garden and food kitchen. We invite you to visit our brewery, experience the charm of the region, and taste the beer from wine country.
We stopped at Bench Brewing on our way home from the Niagara area. It was the 4th brewery on our journey. They have a gorgeous spot below the escarpment and beautiful fields of hops growing. Their building is beautiful and the patio was pleasant. Hubby isn’t an IPA or a sour lover so unfortunately, the only beer he could try was a lager from a can. They had about 6 sours on tap so even though they aren’t typically something I enjoy, I did try one, Cherry Grove. Still wasn’t my cup of tea but I’m glad I tried it. I’m sure they don’t always have so many sours and hope to try some porters or stouts in the winter. We’ve had other beers from Bench before and always enjoy them.
