Other reviewers have well captured all the superlatives of a Big Mo movie date. We had so much fun, smiled the whole night and can't wait to return (i.e. new Jason Bourne in a couple weeks)
So just a couple of hints:
1) Read the advice on the website, it covers most of the stuff to make your trip the best possible.
2) From Columbia, GPS may route you to take Exit 39, stick with Big Mo's advice and continue on I-20 until Exit 33, this will save you from several sporting country road intersections.
3) Leave your house with a full tank, so you have plenty of gas for running the A/C until SC's hot summer day cools off.
4) As a home theater/audio geek I noted the projection PQ was great, and the SQ via FM was very effective (no screechy squawk boxes here)
In short, Go to the Mo.
We had only 1 regret, not having a 55 Chevy, 65-69 Mustang, or GEN 1 Camaro to complete the experience.

Standup Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga is a great way to integrate a love for water, nature, and yoga. When you put the yoga and SUP together it makes for the perfect combination of fun and fitness. Classes are offered during the week in multiple locations and by appointment.
Southern food and Southern hospitality. Simply and delightfully delious. Their signature dish is the Calabash Chicken Tenders. These are chicken breast tenderloins that are soaked in buttermilk and dredge in a delicious well seasoned light bread coating and fried to tender, juicy, mouth watering perfection. The Buffalo Shrimp Po Boy...WOW! A huge sub roll filled with delicious fried shrimp, coleslaw, blue cheese crumbles, lettuce, tomato and drizzled with a mild buffalo sauce. Served with a side of Cajun remoulade sauce for a dose of extra deliciousness. They have several combos to choose from. My husband enjoyed the Calabash Chicken Tender, Shrimp and Steak combo. According to him, it was really yummy. The chicken and shrimp were very good and he said his steak was very tender. For dessert we enjoyed a fresh homemade skillet peach cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Heavenly.
They have a full bar serving fun drinks in Mason jars. Brunch is served on the weekends . The service was exceptional and the prices are moderate.
If you're looking for a great meal in a fun and casual atmosphere… Give FATZ Cafe a try.

I have camped here and also paddle boarded from this location. Even if your campsite isn't right on the water it is still really nice and enjoyable. The restrooms/showers were clean. The park was family friendly. Great paddling around the island too.

The Saluda County Museum, operated by the Saluda County Historical Society, contains a wealth of information about the area. Particularly noteworthy is Saluda's connection to Texas. This is the birthday place of James Butler Bonham and William Barret Travis, both of whom died defending the Alamo. The Society operates Flat Grove, the house in which Bonham was born. There is also a historical marker indicating the birthplace of Travis. As part of the museum is the old Saluda theater, and tours are provided. The people who operate the museum are friendly and the source of a wealth of information. While admission to the museum is free, donations are welcomed.

Great local people and moonshine. The family run distillery in Leesville, South Carolina is a great place to learn about the process of making moonshine. The flavors offered are some of the best local selections. Very friendly staff with answers to just about any question concerning distilling and mixing. The Apple Pie is one of the best flavors. But the peppermint is also very flavorful. Go and spend an hour or so with the great people of Hollow Creek you won't be disappointed!

The Lexington County Museum, located in downtown Lexington, offers a rare and unforgettable experience – the chance to see and touch a way of life gone forever. The Museum interprets and exhibits historic structures and artifacts that tell the story of everyday life for Lexington County citizens in the colonial and antebellum period and contains many everyday items people used in the 18th and 19th centuries. The Museum features over 30 historic structures on seven acres. Some of these include the Leaphart/Harman house, built around 1790; the Corley Cabin, the oldest documented building in Lexington; the Ernest Hazelius House, where the traditional song "Give Me That Old Time Religion" was composed, and the two story-John Fox House, built in 1832. Originally built by Jesse Bates, John Fox, a wealthy planter and politician, bought the house in 1843. Currently, it is furnished with period pieces from Lexington County that show how an upper class home would have been decorated around the mid-nineteenth century. The Museum serves as an invaluable educational tool by promoting the county's history and attracting school groups. The Museum offers thirteen hands-on tours to school groups for free.
What a great place to kill a few hours near Ft. Jackson. We stopped here after graduation day ceremonies to kill some time. Tour takes about 2 hours. The guides are excellent and very knowledgeable. You will enter several of the buildings on site while learning about the history of each of them. They have all been moved here from other locations except for the main white house. To drive up and park it is deceiving in size. There is a lot to see. They have one of the largest quilt collections in the south. Be sure to pay a visit. Entry was $5 pp.

We were staying in Columbia on a golf package and had been coming down there for a few years. We wanted to try some different courses on the package and chose Persimmon Hill even though it was over an hour drive. We will go back. Excellent layout and conditions. Hope you like to play around water.

Private sunset sails on Lake Murray, SC. Come out and relax and let the evening flow by under the care of your skipper or try sailing the boat yourself! You get the sailboat to yourselves and we can take a maximum of 6 guests. We also offer sailing lessons.
We enjoyed the perfect anniversary date with a sunset sail. Captain Bryan Adams was professional and gracious, sailing us into deep water and safely guiding us back by nightfall. We brought our own champagne and snacks to enjoy during our private cruise. Parking is adequate. Private rest rooms are available.
