Italy’s southernmost island, Lampedusa lies between Malta and Tunisia and is geographically part of the African continent. The largest of the Pelagian Islands, Lampedusa is arid and gets its only fresh water from rainfall. In summer, it is served by low-cost Italian airlines with direct flights from several mainland cities, as well as ferry service from Sicily. Lampedusa is treasured by visitors for its fine white sandy beaches, its clear turquoise waters and its excellent scuba diving.

The best beach of the island by far, but also the busiest one. By walk it takes about 15 minutes from the street down to go there. It opens at 8.30. If it is constantly rated the best beach in 'Europe' it must be a reason! The water and colour of the sand are so unique. Speechless. Lampedusa has also the advantage of having a convenient airport to travel from Catania or Palermo, and the norther airports on summer time.

Cala Pulcino was under mostly closed due to the risk of rocks falling due to the beach. However positioned just beside the greatly famous ISOLA DEI CONIGLI beach, shares the colour of the water, the beauty and the African/Caribbean flavour. it is another MUST SEE (if it is legal to do so), and hopefully the Sicilian Authorities will work on this. It takes a good 25/30 minuted by walk to reach the beach, so it is another experience like to be in Arizona canyon or creek. Fantastic.

If you want a Caribbean natural swimming Pool in Lampedusa, that's Cala Creta. Waters are calm green and white, thanks to the sandy colour of the seabed. This is so relaxing spending time in the water here, when locals and tourists dive into the water with artistic moves! See the pics1 Just fun! Go for it!
