Explore a half-mile long ridge of 60-foot high rock forming crevices, passageways, and caves hidden in an ancient forest! Located just 15 minutes from Chautauqua Lake, Panama Rocks is one of the top-rated attractions in Chautauqua County based on independent reviews on TripAdvisor. The Panama Rocks formations are surrounded by a one mile long hiking trail, but most guests enjoy going off of the main trail to explore! Visitors spend anywhere from one hour to the entire day having fun and exploring the park. Picnic tables are available. The trail is relatively easy to hike (Class 1) and guests of all ages enjoy it, but there are roots, rocks, and uneven ground; it is still a hiking trail! Plan your trip to explore one of the most fun and popular "things to do" in Western New York today!
Such a find! Just a beautiful area to climb rock formations and nature discoveries. There's an actual mile long path to walk without doing any climbing but we never made it onto the path. We were too busy climbing! Very friendly atmosphere. Everyone helped everyone! So much rich color.......I can only imagine what it looks like in autumn.

We finally made the trip to Southern Tier and we were not disappointed! We went to The Empty Pint at 4:45 on a Friday and it was already packed. There were no seats on the patio but we were able to snag one just inside the doors so we still were able to catch the breeze.
The beers are excellent and they have a lot to choose from. I highly recommend getting a flight so you can sample as much as possible. You will need to leave your driver's license to do a flight because people have stolen a lot of the metal holders. They have cold 6 packs to go of the small bottles and definitely bring your growler for a fill too.
The menu is limited but everything we had was delicious. We tried the pastrami & swiss, and while it was a little fatty, the flavor rocked. We also had the classic meatloaf sandwich - it was heart and delicious. Our favorite item was the buffalo chicken meatballs. If we had more room I would have liked to try the pork rinds, one of the grilled cheese sandwiches and the veggie joe.
The patio is dog friendly. Make sure you get there early if you want a spot for you and your furry friend. We arrived at 4:45 on a Friday and there were no empty tables. You could bring a lawn chair to be safe and don't forget a water bowl for your dog. They have live bands outside too.

Access to Chautauqua Lake is limited. This is a public access on the lower lake. At one time it was the site of an amusement park with rail access which was a hub of activity early in the last century. It is a historic local site. Today it is a park that remembers local icon Lucy. There is fishing access and picnic sites in addition to Lucy statue popular for photos. Free simple attraction , nice lunch spot.

We are a constant work in progress. A quaint place to find quality handmade gifts and county souvenirs. We specialize in local products from within Chautauqua County. We are located on Route 394 between Lakewood and Stow in the former Candle Essence building.
We heard good reviews of the Craft Cottage of Chautauqua and decided to check it out last Saturday. It's located in the former Candle Essence shop along Route 394. There is an eclectic assortment of items. Take your time looking so you don't miss anything....MoreThank you so much for your glowing review.

There are only two golf ranges in this county and this is in the south end. It is not pristine but not as rough as the one in the north county. Pro shop is nice, I bought my clubs there at a reasonable price several years ago. Also has one of the few mini golf places in the county.

This cemetery is a step into history. Established in 1848, it was Jamestown's third established cemetery. The founding fathers of Prendergast, Foote and Fenton are all buried here. As well as Jamestown's favorite comedian Lucille Ball. There are Lucy logos on the pavement to mark the way to her grave. I took the horse drawn carriage ride hosted by the Fenton Museum and had a wonderful experience, which features reenactors who tell the tales of some of the famous locals. I was very impressed and look forward to going back on my own. So much more to see.

The Fenton History Center provides a wonderful overview of the local history. The research library is used by people from all over the country with an emphasis on Scandinavian research due to the number of Swedes and so forth who settled in the area.
We are an 18-hole scenic golf course in Lakewood, NY. Men, women, and juniors visit our meticulously maintained grounds for golf lessons, golf tournaments, and golf games. We also have a gorgeous banquet hall that hosts parties, wedding receptions, and other events for people from throughout the Jamestown, NY area.

We were on vacation in Bemus Point, NY and had breakfast at the Bemus Point Inn yummy and great prices. Next door is a shop called Re-Imagine WOW these girls are simply amazing the vibe you get as soon as you step in is soooo welcoming. This store has a wide selection of beautiful items from one of a kind refinished furniture to customized signes on wood (which we order one for our lake house at home). I give this place 5 stars all the way !!! Way to go Brenda & Angie we will be back.
