If you are thinking of taking a swamp tour, this company is top notch. We went on the speed boat tour, which lasted approximately an hour and a half. Our tour guide Ernie was extremely knowledgeable. We saw many crocodiles and a lot of different...MoreThank you for the positive review.

We booked the small airboat- there were 6 of us on it & that was a perfect number. We were so glad we did that when we saw the hundreds of other people pull up and load into the bigger boats. Our guide was great- I think his name was Brandon or Brennan (or something with a B). He grew up in the swamps and had a healthy respect and love for the area. He shared stories of the area, of the flora and fauna, the alligators, birds, fish and other wildlife. He did not lure any alligators with meat/marshmallows or the sort- all the gators he spotted were out sunning. I was impressed with his tour & the info he shared. It was a pricey tour but we are glad we booked it and got to see some of Louisiana's natural beauty outside of city.

We had a charter set up for today with Captain Nick. When we got there a storm was coming in that was too bad to go out and. I really wanted to go see if this was my last opportunity to fish today before leaving...MoreThis review was posted to our Trip Advisor listing although this captain is not a captain for Jean Lafitte Fishing Charters

We took the small airboat with Captain Chip and had a wonderful time. He is knowledgeable and passionate about the condition of the ecosystem and was able to explain what has happened over time (naturally and human-caused) and what is being done currently that will affect the waterways. Captain Chip was funny and quite skilled as a captain (THAT GATE!!! I'm still in disbelief!!). We got up close and personal with a gator and that was quite amazing. Well worth the trip.

My family and I booked the Jean Lefitte Swamp Tour over the phone last week. We provided them with all of our information and I received a conformation email. They told us to be ready outside our hotel. Our group of 4 was ready for a fun swamp adventure and stood outside our hotel starting at 8:30. At 9:05 we still had not seen the bus, I called the company and they said that the bus driver was running late and was on their way to pick us up. At 9:30 I called the company again and they said that the tour bus came to the hotel, LEFT WITHOUT US, and was NOT COMING TO PICK US UP. We were waiting outside for an hour to be told that they came to our hotel and picked up a group of people (at some other entrance that we were told not to be at) and left without making sure they had all of the people scheduled on the tour. Such a terrible experience. Heed my warning, DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. Such a waste of time and completely unprofessional.

This was a great trout fishing trip with Captain Jason. We were picked up at our Hotel in New Orleans and in less than an hour we were fishing. We were pulling in fish right and left while everyone else around us had no action. Captain Jason knows what he’s doing.
Highly recommended.

Our experience here was excellent. Our group of six drove down from Missouri to fish two days and stay two nights at Griffin Fishing Charters. From the minute we arrived – and throughout our stay – we were impressed with the friendliness and hospitality of the owners and everyone on staff. James and Rosemary, the owners, made sure that we had everything we needed. The resort truly felt like a home-away-from-home!
We were very pleased with the cleanliness and comfort of our room. There were also several nice common areas for groups to gather including the dining hall, screened in porches, and picnic tables on the dock. Near the rooms is the cookhouse, where we walked over for all of our meals. The home cooked food was absolutely fantastic, and we certainly never left a meal hungry! We enjoyed red beans and rice, jambalaya, and crawfish ѐtoufѐe. The cook Tracy was very polite and very accommodating, as one person in our group had a food allergy (we just let them know prior to arriving).
As for the fishing experience…FANTASTIC! During both days the three ladies in our group went with Captain Casey and the three men went with Captain Colby. We came to the conclusion that both of these guides could have navigated the bayou blindfolded! They were so nice, fun to talk to, and extremely knowledgeable. The ladies boat needed a little more assistance than the guys, and Captain Casey was extremely patient and helpful. We enjoyed learning about the bayou and other interesting local information as we fished. Both days of our guided fishing trip were huge successes, and even though the weather forecast was not optimal, Captains Colby and Casey made sure we were safe and put us on the fish! We caught our limits of red fish plus reeled in a few other types of fish. We recommend Griffin Fishing Charters for fishermen of all skill levels, and we can’t wait to go back!
