One of a must visit park in Kuala Terengganu. Fascinating park with fantastic architectural of Crystal Mosque surrounded by the sea. Staff at the entrance of the mosque are very helpful and most importantly they are knowledgeable on the structure. Crystal Mosque welcomed all visitors regardless of religions.

Average looking mosque, but it does look to be 'floating' from a distance. Fishes can be fed around the lagoon. Mughal architecture can be seen within the mosque. There's a 'hop on' bus available at specific timings for a fee. Shops selling refreshments nearby. No public transportation.

Though this place a wide range of local best such as seafood base products like infamous keropok lekor, keropok ikan, belacan and etc...they also offered household rations such as varieties of rice to choose from...But is the crowd puller is their batik textile and songkets....A lot of design and materials to choose from depends on your budgets...but be careful if peak hours or school break this place is congested....difficult to get parking also...

The architecture is based on the traditional Terengganu Malay house the can be seen in the village all over Terengganu state. It's beautiful, unique and I can say one of a kind museum that we've been so far. The natural environment surrounding Muzium Negeri makes it pleasing to the eyes and is calming. You'll be greeted by lots of antique cars at the parking area. It brings memories of the past for us. Main entrance is after quite a walks and climbing stairs. ( as this museum is very huge so do get lots of rest if you're planning to explore its treasure :) )
The plants, trees and koi pond is so pretty, it creates a peaceful environment. RM 5 is required per person to enter and taking pictures is allowed. The main attraction here that is the historical "Batu Bersurat" is displayed just after the entrance and here you can know more about the story of how it is found and restored in other museum before it is brought back home after the building of his museum is completed. It's a very interesting story to know and is so exciting to see it with our own eyes when we only heard about "Batu Bersurat" in history class and on t.v. before so it's an experience that we enjoy as a whole family. :)
Natural history, traditional garments, "batik", "songket", Malay traditional and antique weaponry is among the treasures that is kept in a good condition in this museum. The best part for us is the "Batu Bersurat" of course, the Sultan's gallery, and the Malay traditional "keris"! And not to forget the traditional techniques of woodcarvings. All the works is so detailed and the design is so pretty. You can see how much efforts is put to make one piece of woodcarving. We love how it makes the houses looks much attractive just with the addition of Malay wood carvings.
There is this one area where they display the longest "batik" painting painted on white clothe with colourful design showing natural wonders and culture in Terengganu. It is made in 1989 which is quite a long time ago. It is spread along and crossed over inside the main building and we thought it was creative and nostalgic. A new 3D painting is at work we have the chance to see it on our visit at that time and it's near the "Batu Bersurat" and traditional clothing. Not many visitors on that day and we have it all to ourselves. :D
Across the main building we saw the scenic view of the garden from top before arriving to the Petronas gallery where they exhibit an array of information about petroleum and geology for educational purposes. It's interesting to see how it works and we get to try our hands on some of the interactive displays. Good for those who are interested in this natural resources. There's a lot of interesting information about our own national oil company too here. It's a good place to be with your family and you can teach your children some valuable lessons from this museum trip.
The negative part is that while we're there ( not sure whether air conditioners is broken or they opened the doors ) the air conditioners isn't working as we felt so hot and we're all sweating. The temperature is almost the same as how it is outside at noon. :P The doors is opened and not closed and that might contribute to the uncomfortable feeling we had. It's so hot! And we can't stay for long as we'd like to because of this. :/ Would like the management to take a look on this matter as we'd like to come and visit again. Other than that, it's a wonderful experience we had on our visit to this beautiful and unique museum. It'll be a much better experience without the air conditioners problem.
As some said, "negeri cantik, budaya menarik, orangnya pun baik" and yes, they do have all this quality. They just need to keep up their works on preserving their traditional cultures for the younger generations to embrace and to always stay as what the quote up there say. I hope this museum will have more exhibits for us history lovers to explore and learn as part of life experience! :)

Everytime I think about taking short vacation, I think about the sandy white Beaches in Teluk Kalong. The Beaches are absolutely beautiful in my eyes. This beach is quite popular among foreign tourists and most of the visitors who comes here are among the locals that know about its beauty and uniqueness.
I have seen fishing boats moored in the coastal area after returning from fishing.
I would recommend anyone to go here. Homestay, toilets, surau and food stalls also available here. .

It was one of the main place setting for Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa film (Malay old folk story/history). Really breathtaking. I really enjoy strolling between stones with sea water touches slowly your feet. Cool & clean.. Great for taking photos.. but currently the place is under contruction to build a new hotel there.
