All though this is more a garden than a genuine botanical garden (most of the trees and plants did have labels so referring to botanical garden makes sense) the place is really nice and beautiful, quite large also. It has several large ponds and different sections (mangrove, madagaskar, tropical etc) and nice, easy walk around them. We also saw several huge iguanas wondering around, which is quite exotic for us coming from Northern Europe.

They offer guided tours as well, even in a small tram (I believe its called) which is very useful and nice for elderly people. We walked around the whole garden with a good map and instructions given at the entrance.

Garden has also small greenhouses and a butterfly house with hundreds of different kinds of butterflies flying around you. Very beautiful!

Bayside Marketplace

Large waterfront shopping, entertainment and dining area.

Lively open air marketplace with lots of bars and restaurants. There's shopping as well. But from what I saw it does not appear as though people go there for the shopping. Loved the live Latin music and the food. Ate at Latin American Cuban Cuisine and it was wonderful. My husband got a Cuban sandwich and I got grilled fish with moros and cassava (both sides are a must!). We then took an evening Millionaire's Row sightseeing cruise. The homes and yachts were ridiculously beautiful. We only had one evening to spend in Miami before leaving for our cruise the next morning and I'm very happy with our choice. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was due to our experience with taxis. Beware of being overcharged because you are a tourist! Negotiate a fare upfront.

South Beach

People watching is a great pastime in Miami's South Beach, which draws celebrities and beautiful people in skimpy swim attire to see and be seen. The wide and fine, white sand-covered beaches are popular spots for fashion photo shoots, so you're sure to see models. The area is known for its hip clubs and wild nightlife as well as numerous excellent restaurants.

Nice boulevard on Lincoln drive, however missing some really cosey places on the beach. Too much of the same. Looking and to be seen!

This venue is wonderful for watching tennis matches. The stadium court is intimate enough so that there isn't a bad distant seat from the court. The outer courts allow for close-ups to the players. The food and drink options are above-average for a tennis tournament. And of course, you are in Miami in March. I highly recommend this venue if you love tennis.

Lincoln Road

Lincoln Road is Miami Beach's premier shopping, dining, and people-watching destination. Just blocks from the beach, you'll discover a bustling mile-long stretch of excellent restaurants, fantastic shopping, and brimming sidewalk cafés.

We walked almost five blocks from the outdoor mall down to the beach. It’s a good spot to people watch. Along the road, there are a few tacky souvenirs shops to get a quirky or cheap souvenir. Around the outdoor mall area, there is a coffee shop, pizzeria and other restaurants, so a good choice to have a sit down meal

Parking was hard to find without a long walk. Though from the entrance to the beach area I liked the walking mat to get to the beach, made it much easier to walk and for those hauling coolers. We had lunch at the Light House Café. While we were there the line for a table ebbed and flowed. The outdoor seating was comfortable though the breeze wanted to steal our napkins away. We chose fish sandwiches which were good. After lunch we walked to the beach and enjoyed it a while. If we arrived earlier & stayed longer we would have rented a couple chairs from them there.

BEST BEACH IN MIAMI!!! White sand, blue/turquoise ocean and palm trees on the beach..you would think you're in the Bahamas!!!! There's an old zoo that was destroyed by a past hurricane, but a lot of animals are still there. Definitely a place to go to! Fun for the whole family guaranteed. Not so much crowded (December-January) so it's perfect!! There are barbecues, picnic tables and volleyball courts. You can also bring hammocks!! Because there are palm trees on the beach, it's easy to find shade ON the beach.
When it's the low tide, you can walk for miles and miles with only water to your knees. Perfect for childrens, perfect for everyone!!!

Really nice place to take a break from daily traffic and shopping. Learn about living in times past and enjoy the beautiful and large gardens. Well kept place despite hurricanes
affecting the area once in a while. There was some maintenance work going on, to be able to bring back to normal areas damaged by recent hurricanes. The house itself is also very interesting and huge.
