Formerly the grounds of a hotel, this park offers stunning vistas and uncrowded trails.
Took the pup on a great hike on the Minnewaska lake trail. It's a nice trail, a bit crowded, but with super friendly people, dog friendly, and nice easy elevation. If you're looking for a strenuous hike, this is not it, but there's plenty of trails that may have a more hefty hike feel.

This was our first time visiting Woodstock Farm Sanctuary in their new location. Each visit has been equally wonderful.
This visit was during the Halloween event, HalloWoodstock. The event was great. Well worth the 3 1/2 hour drive each way for us!
It's so nice to see the animals who reside there getting a second chance and living the life that every animal should live. Such a wonderful place. We are looking forward to our next trip.

Available to view Mon - Fri by appointment. Please call the gallery. At over 3,000 square feet, DM Weil Gallery may be one of the largest modern art galleries in New York's Hudson Valley. Just a short drive from the center of picturesque New Paltz, DM Weil Gallery offers the look and vibe of an exclusive Soho style exhibition space, but with the majestic Shawangunk mountains as a backdrop. The eye-popping abstract creations of acclaimed painter DM Weil -- has been praised by critics and collectors alike, the gallery's mission statement remains, "Why Can't Fine Art Be Fun?".
My girlfriend and I drove up to New Paltz for the weekend and spent Saturday hiking. Sunday, we explored the town for a while and decided to head up to this gallery as it was so highly rated on TripAdvisor. I can assure you that it is all that its hyped up to be and more. The moment we stepped into the facility, we were floored by all the prints and how knowledgeable and hospitable Ken was (DM Weil's partner). We ended up spending just under an hour looking through the beautiful gallery and we would've stayed longer if we hadn't had time constraints. Afterwards, we got an amazing deal on some prints and we were very happy with our experience. I would recommend to anyone with an interest in art! (It was also remarkably cool and well-kept and we were offered beverages and snacks which was a very nice change from the 90 degree and humid weather!)

Renovated art deco theater showing professional productions of contemporary plays & musicals.
Just saw RED a Tony award winning production that just wrapped up its run at Shadowland Stages (new name for Shadowland Theatre).
You really ought not to miss one of the 5 or 6 summer productions at this venue. The newly renovated space (the entire building) offers amazing productions performed by professional actors. With the opening of their adjunct space and black box theatre down the street the Shadowland will only expand its history of successful productions.
If you are anywhere near Ellenville (located in the middle between Liberty (to the North), Monticello (to the West) and Middletown (to the South East) you really must come. Take advantage of the many restaurants in town before and/or after the show!

We were just looking for a cup of coffee, but we found so much more. It's a Farmstand, it's a Coffeeshop, with pasties, it's a gift shop. They have sandwiches and quiche, they have vegetables and flowers, they have places to sit, both inside and out. Something about the way everything was laid out really draws you and makes you want to look around. We felt it was a real find. And by the way, the coffee and the pastries were excellent, too!

Apples, grapes, berries...John and Lori Wightman have a gorgeous hidden gem. Learn all about apple farming and have an experience of picking apples in the orchard. This is a quaint farm that has been in the family for many years. It is not an amusement park but a real, operating farm. Beautiful area.

There is a big garden gnome right off the road as you drive north on 209/55. Great place to take a photo. But there was nothing else around
