Jodhpur is a city in the Thar Desert of the northwest Indian state of Rajasthan. Its 15th-century Mehrangarh Fort is a former palace that’s now a museum, displaying weapons, paintings and elaborate royal palanquins (sedan chairs). What a nice moment we spent with the “lentil guy”, a well known miniature painting teacher in Jodhpur. He’s passionate and wants to offer his knowledge to most of people he meet so typical Indian art will follow future generations. He guided us for a 4h course (slow learners, it can be 2h). And it’s a FREE course. He also have a huge collection of his students’ miniatures. So if you’re interested, it’s the city to try, and this place to go !

Wonderful park with fantastic views of Jodhpur fort and beautiful natural setting. Would strongly recommend booking the 200inr guided tour which was both fascinating and informative - we were lucky to be guided by Harsh.

We visited this palace and although tourists are allowed only into one section ( the other parts are occupied by Royal family and a hotel) , the sheer opulence and vastness of the place completely astonished us.. Enjoyed seeing the vintage cars used by the Royal family..

Sardar market envelopes the landmark clock tower of Jodhpur. There are many shops which cater to tourist needs selling handicrafts made by local artisans. It's a good place to shop if one intends to support the local artisans and also get a good deal on the products. Bargaining is a must though.

The Step Well Square is a mini-architectural tour with the Toorji's Step Well at the center, and almost 250 yrs of building traddition on view. Built in the 1740s, submerged for decades, its recent restoration uncovered over 200 hundred feet of hand carved treasure. Spend a few hours exploring this architectural wonder, and lunch, dine, sip or shop at the many restaurants and shops in the square.
An awesome place to come and relax. The best place near this location is the Open House Roof Top Cafe, from where you can get a perfect scenic view. The view for me was, on one side I had the high fort and setting sun and other side deep step well and moon
