Beautiful grounds & view, nestled in the foothills of sun drenched Deerhorn Valley in San Diego's east county. We are a Boutique Winery, with several varietals growing in our hillside vineyard and make low volume artesian hand crafted wine. We also have California Organic Olive Oil, flavored Olive Oils and imported Balsamic vinegar. Open Sat. & Sun. 11-5 Only a 5 mile drive east of Jamul on Highway 94 (old Campo Road) and turn left onto Honey Springs Road. We are 5.5 miles up the road on the left. (1/2 mile past the Fire Station). It's a beautiful drive. Proud member of The Wineries On Highway 94.
Driving through Jamul, I saw the signs for Deerhorn Valley Vineyards. We decided to go wine tasting. So glad we did, it was a wonderful relaxing visit. The owner was friendly and very knowledgeable, explaining the wines we tasted and the process of wine making. They also had flavored olive oils to taste. We purchased several wines and olive oils. They will be perfect gifts for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I will need more for my holiday parties so I will be going back to enjoy the day.

Vines with a view. Come for the view and stay for the wine. Rustic Ridge Vineyards is a Micro Boutique Winery making handcrafted small batch specialty wines. Montepulciano is our flag ship wine with vines from the Montepulciano region north of Rome Italy. By Appointment
The drive out to Rustic Ridge from the west side of San Diego takes a leisurely 50 minutes, and once you get to Rancho San Diego, it’s actually quite beautiful as you head up the mountain. We arrived at around 4:30, which turned out to be perfect timing - just before an amazing sunset. As a coastal native of San Diego, I thought I knew what a sunset was. But this view was different and seriously satisfying. The elevated perspective includes Mt. Helix, Dictionary Hill, Mt Miguel, and Mt Soledad as you look westward, as well as downtown San Diego, Mission Bay and Coronado Bridge with the ocean beyond. Fantastic! Once seated, we were treated to a flight of 5 wines from Rustic’s vineyard. This included a delicious sauvignon blanc, a cab, pinot, rosé and a syrah. All were lovely, but we were surprised by the syrah - as we generally prefer reds. Rusty and Kerri are amazing hosts. They took us on a walking tour of the entire property, including the vineyards. When we got back, we took a turn at both corn hole and Jenga while soft jazz played in the background. You can tell that they love this place - their creation. The design and decor is charming - a gentle fusion of countrified sophistication and understated elegance. A manzanita branch pulled straight from the field hovers over the bar as a subtle reminder of where you are. You’ll see the headlights of vintage trucks (at least the front half of them) reconfigured as outdoor lighting, tastefully rustic signage, and other unexpected delights, all somehow perfectly accented by contemporary deep red umbrellas. We highly recommend this new vineyard treasure to anyone - locals or visitors alike - who has yet to explore this part of SD county and it’s special charm.

Such an amazing scenery! Never have I come across a winery WITH a waterfall and a stream. With the difficulty of finding just a waterfall in this area, this place is perfect for photographers. Have a drink and shoot!
